With T Jordan Gross signing a six-year deal Thursday, the Panthers are able to keep their best two young talents. For now. Peppers is due $17 million and wants out, so the Panthers are expected to seek a trade. He should attract a Jared Allen-like package as the Draft nears, but Carolina should exhaust all chances to keep him. Ultimately, it's their call despite his tough talk.

Makes sense probably placed a non-exclusive tag on him, now they can attempt to trade him so they get something for him rather then letting him become a FA.

Panthers signed LT Jordan Gross to a six-year contract. The deal is worth nearly $60 million and includes $30.5 million in the first three years

They have to be hurting in cap space now until they dump off Peppers to someone else, pretty big contract for an OL.
