Checked out Jets Insider this morning and they had an "official Pats suck' thread going on over there.

But, we are better than that. We are more grown up . We may even feel sorry for them.

So, I thought that we might list why we feel sorry for them and there are plenty of reasons.

Here's some of mine:

1. They haven't even been to a Super Bowl since after the actual merger of the AFL-NFL. Neil Armstrong had not walked on the moon when they played in their last Super Bowl.

2. They call themselves the "New York Jets". But they practice in Long Island and play in New Jersey.

3. They play in a stadium called "Giants Stadium".

I have more reason to feel sorry for them. What are yours?

The Jets aren't even the number one football team in their city.

The all time face of their franchise (Namath) made an ass of himself on national television.

Their awful draft history.

They actually thought they were getting one over on us by leapfrogging us to draft Dewayne Robertson a.k.a. "the beach ball with butter knives".

Do you mean when he told Suzy Kolber he wanted to kiss her in a drunken haze or when he wore nylons in a commercial? lol

Honestly, just because they partake in this sort of behaviour doesn't mean I feel comfortable doing it. Especially before the game. And especially since they're tied for first at the moment and a division rival. They can pre-game hate all they want, but I'll save my energy for Sunday.

Chad Pennington will need some more surgey on his shoulder after Sunday.

They don't have entertaining exchanges between the saintly PATSNUTme and the cosmopolitan Alk (AKA: HuskerAlk).

Little from column A, little from column B.

how about the fact that their team is 69 games under .500 all-time?

how about the fact that the colts, who have been out of the division for years, still have more AFC EAST division championships than the jets?

how about the fact that they have spent the last 35 year making complete fools of themsleves both on the football field and in the media? I mean, just last year, their fans were DEFENDING herm edwards as a viable coach!

oh I can do this all day...

Sympathy for the Devil:

They had to endure Rich Kotite
They had to endure Pete Carroll (we can really sympathize there)
They had Parcells coach them and then spurn them without any AFC title games, SB apearances or SB Championships
BB quit as HC of the NY Jets after one day
They had to endure media whore Herm Edwards and his clock management fiascos
Many of their fans live in the NY and NJ
They get the emotional roller coaster as the press over-hypes their players (Penny in 2002, D Rob the BBWK) and then they go on to fail
They lost the Border War with the Pats...bigtime

Cosmopolitan? LMAO!! That's a first. You haven't seen some of my exchanges on the Jets boards though. :D

Of course not, I'd need a translator to visit there. :snob:

They thought it was really going to hurt us when Mo Lewis knocked Drew out of the game.

haha, good point. They're somewhat responsible for our title in 2001, that has to sting.

Kotite was the WORST. How about when they tried Tony Meola (usa world cup goalie) out for punter?

Their one and only SB appearance was BEFORE Woodstock.

There is no reason for us to hate the jets. For the last couple of years they have consistently given us two guaranteed wins and the biggest reason to love them Mo Lewis.

Hell Mo should be an honorary member of the Patriots hall of fame.

Sorry to be a negative voice. If the Pats passing game isn't a heck

of a lot better than in the Buffalo game, the Jets will win.

Since the Jets won their last (and only) Super Bowl...

1. Man walked on the moon

2. The Watergate scandal occured

3. Richard Nixon resigned

4. Gerald Ford pardoned him

5. We had the Arab oil embargo

6. We had Chernobyl and Three Mile Island

7. We had two wars in Iraq and one in Afganistan

8. The Soviet Union crumbled

9. Germany was reunited

10. Several former Warsaw Pact nations joined NATO

11. The microwave oven became ubiquitous in American homes

12. Cable TV was invented

13. The personal computer was invented

14. The internet was invented

13. We have had two presidents named George Bush

14. We had the Iran Contra Affair and the Whitewater investigation

15. We have had about 8 recessions

16. A president (Clinton) was impeached

17. We endured the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history

AND last but not least

18. The Boston Red Sox won the World Series! :D
