Can somebody here explain to me why we will loose to a team such as Jets, Dolphins and Buffalo?

A lot of posters are predicting a loss in Seattle?
Quite possible but Seattle does not strike me as a special team.

Best 15-1.....worst 11-5...most likely end up between these two extremes...as usual, it all depends on injuries.

Here is the schedule. Predict the games that the Patriots will win or lose for the upcoming season. The winner will receive a great big

and the right to be smug for the rest of the post season.

Final record 13-3. Home field advantage through out the playoffs.

I was thinking the same thing. 13-3. But, no surprise. It's going to be around 14 wins give or take 1.

19-0 :rocker:

They have the best home field advantage in football, plus it'll be a Sunday Night game.

I'll take a crack at this:

Sun 9/7/2008 1:00 PM vs Chiefs -- WIN -- A sloppy win, though (Remember, the Pats haven't truly dominated an opener since the 2002 Gillette christening win over Pittsburgh... last year was 14-7 at the half before Ellis Hobbs swung that one for good). Wouldn't be surprised to see something in the 20-17 range...

Sun 9/14/2008 4:15 PM @ Jets -- WIN -- Meadowlands will be raucous until about 4:45PM, when it's 7-0 NE, and the offense is driving....

Sun 9/21/2008 1:00 PM vs Dolphins -- WIN -- A blah game that shouldn't provide much of a problem.

Sun 9/28/2008 vs Bye

Sun 10/5/2008 4:15 PM @ 49ers -- LOSS -- The stunner... traveling to the west coast after a bye, the Pats come out flat as all get out, play an uninspired game, and lose a sloppy, ugly game to a bad team... something like 16-13 sounds possible...

Sun 10/12/2008 8:15 PM @ Chargers -- WIN -- The Niners debacle, as well as San Diego's yaps, gets the Pats in the right mindset for this one. Call it a gut feeling, but I don't even see this one being all that close.

Mon 10/20/2008 8:30 PM vs Broncos -- LOSS -- A little laggy coming from the West Coast, Mike Shanahan does what he does best -- beat the Patriots. This could well be Jay Cutler's coming out party. His release is slow as hell, but if he can overcome that, he will be an excellent quarterback in this league for years to come...

Sun 10/26/2008 1:00 PM vs Rams -- WIN -- Meh. Reminiscent of the Saints game from 2005 -- a pedestrian win over a mediocre/bad NFC team with crappy FOX announcers

Sun 11/2/2008 8:15 PM @ Colts -- WIN -- The Pats go into POS (that stadium, at BEST, is Reliant Stadium Jr., and at worst, Chase Field Jr.), playing for the inside track to the one seed, and knock around the still hobbled Colts. Look for Seymour, Wilfork, Warren, etc. to have monster games.

Sun 11/9/2008 1:00 PM vs Bills -- WIN -- Since 31-0, the Patriots do not lose to the Bills. This one might be a little closer than we'd like after a big win, but it still shouldn't provide much of a problem.

Thu 11/13/2008 8:15 PM vs Jets -- WIN -- BB gameplanning for Favre on a short week >>>>> Mangini gameplanning for Brady on a short week

Sun 11/23/2008 1:00 PM @ Dolphins -- WIN -- Chad should be holding a clipboard with some type of shoulder injury by then.

Sun 11/30/2008 4:15 PM vs Steelers -- WIN -- This team does not lose to the Steelers at home.

Sun 12/7/2008 8:15 PM @ Seahawks -- LOSS -- Just a tough, tough place to win.

Sun 12/14/2008 4:15 PM @ Raiders -- WIN -- Lessons learned from the 49ers debacle

Sun 12/21/2008 1:00 PM vs Cardinals -- WIN -- Hello, Matt Vasgergian...

Sun 12/28/2008 1:00 PM @ Buffalo -- WIN -- If and only if the one seed is still up in the air, and at 3 losses, it should be. The Colts have a fairly difficult schedule, so 12-4 MIGHT be enough, but assuming it's not, the Patriots handle Buffalo in a hugely important finale.

Final Record: 13-3 (Although not quite the way others predicted it to happen ;)

Records be damned - Pats will beat the Cowboys in Super Bowl XLIII.

12--4

I'm not smart enough to be able to predict the outcome of every game before the season begins, but I look at every game and assign what I think is the Probability of the Pats winning each, up to 90% (I don't think even BB would put a 100% Probability on any one game at this time of the year), then I add them up. I came up with 12 wins. Whatever.

This is a 3-13 team - possibly 2-14 if KC rises to the occasion.

Agreed, SBC. It's time to bench Brady, fire Belichick and replace Pioli. This bunch of has-beens will be lucky to rise to the Jets' 4--12 of last year. Why didn't they get Favre when he was available? And, maybe we can get Mangini back to take over.

I really think 12-4 is more likely, but 11-5, overcoming injuries, going in 2-3 in the last 5 would be just what the media needs to fuel a Pats SB run!

I can not and will not pick the Colts to beat the Pats.

i'm confident with 14-2

12-4

And a W in February

I know a lot of people have us losing to SD. I just don't see it. A more likely loss is after the long road trip against the one team that has always given us trouble.....The F..kin Broncos ! After that the Seattle game seems like an especially brutal place to play. 14-2 and primed for the playoffs.

Well, the team was winless in the all-important exhibition season, so I'm just hoping that they can somehow end up better than the Dolphins, Chiefs and Falcons.

11-5

We'll end the season at 12-4 win the division but won't have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. That honor will go to the Jaguars (wild guess)
