The Offical Demote McDaniels Thread

Well, athough I haven't broken down tape (hey Box, you and Pats 1 looking for partners in crime?;) ), it did seem to my untrained eye that both tackles were outmanned desperately, and Brady never really seemed to have time to set, make reads and throw. He seemed to be moving in the pocket much more than normal and throwing off his front foot alot. It did also seem that no adjustments to this increased pressure were made to buy Brady more time. I did not notice either Pass or Faulk kept in often enough to pick up the free pass rusher coming off the edge. And It seemed that the TE's were running far too many routes and not double teaming the DE's coming off the end often enough.

This was a day where the WR's needed to carry the load of catching Brady's passes and the TE's and backs were needed for blocking duties. To me, the fact that these adjustments were not made indicate a lack of confidence by the coaching staff in the WR's that one of three could consistently get open on every pass play.

Well it is my very unprofessional opinion that I would personally rather see incomplete passes thrown to the second row than Brady on his ass all day.

Just my first pass based on what I saw live, without breaking things down further.

Exactly! I can't imagine ANY offensive coordinator anywhere on this planet would have much confidence in the sorry ***ed bunch of stiffs we have at the WR spot. We don't have a single WR on this roster who is better than a #3 slot WR. Not one.

I am all for dumping JM but you really do appreciate Charlie Weis when you see this kid call plays. Charlie always seemed to have good plan going in but was truly great at making the adjustments as the game went on. McDaniel seems clueless in making adjustments and that scares the hell out of me in the playoffs.

When does Bill step in and do something? Will Vinny start call plays?

In all fairness to the kid it's kinda difficult to make adjustments when you have a bunch of JV wideouts at your disposal. I mean it's not like the kid can count on any wideout on the team to make a big play, or to even beat man coverage and get somewhat open for crying out loud. And then when one of those JV wideouts does get open and Brady is afforded time to complete a pass they inevitably fumble the ball .............................

All these threads are turning into what the Patriots haters have been doing for years. Patriots haters are divided into two main camps - Belichick is nothing without Brady and Brady is just a product of Belchick's system. Two diametrically opposite arguements.

Today, it is either McDaniels sucks, Light is terrible, or we have no WRs. If Light is terrible and we have no WRs, doesn't that mean that McDaniels is doing a pretty good job? If McDaniels is truly that bad, maybe Light and our WRs are pretty good.

I thought this was a bad game all around, but I don't see these things as black and white blame issue. I saw us losing the battle in the trenches, the battle of field position, the turnover battle, and the penalty battle today. Only so much of these things can be pinned on one area whether it is the coaching, the o-line, or the WRs. All would have to play their part to fail this miserably as we did today. If McDaniels called a perfect gameplan, I don't think our o-line would have still overcome that rush. We couldn't do anything to stop Donnie Jones' perfect punts. McDaniels couldn't stop Graham from fumbling that ball. There was so many things wrong today and a lot of them can't fall on anyone other than the players themselves.

Why are you asking me? If you're upset about it go to the tape and chart the plays, breakdown who did their job and who didn't and figure out why the play failed or succeeded. If you can do that you won't need to ask me that question, and you might have some new and interesting insights to the game.

Box O Rocks which game tape do you watch?

Did we have a single screen play in the whole game? It was one of our best weapons before. The play calling is pitiful to say the least.

We only ran four of them. Two wide reciver screens and two RB screens. All led to completed passes anfd about 3 to 5 yards. The Phins were looking for them. Didn't you watch the game?

Yes, and that should have been seen, and adjusted to by the OC...which he didnt do till halfway through the 3th quarter.

I think the bigger story is lack of hot routes so Brady could throw to someone quickly with the pressure. Either they're not in the offense scheme or the wr's aren't adjusting.

The Pats had this issue last year when they got knocked out of the playoffs by Denver. It took them a while to adjust to the blitzing, particularly Lynch.

They need to put in a quick outlet otherwise teams will keep blitzing them and Brady will continue to get hammered.

We have always had no problemwith that in the past BM. (Before McDaniels)

and i agree the OC is to blame and even the coach for letting it occur. i know i'm committing blashemy

The Patriots are STACKED with talent on offense.
McDaniels doesn't know how to play situational football and is consistently putting his players in non-ideal situations.

Umm, do you even know what, when, and why a screen is used? When would you suggest that Tommy had enough time to let the screen set up so it could be used? Could you please point out some exact plays in the game where Tommy had enough protection to set it up? When did Miami over pursue so that the screen could form? Did you want the TE, RB, or WR screen? What is your analysis?

All McDaniels, the boy wonder, had to do was make early first half changes, and adjustments, which as usual, he didnt do till midway through the fourth quarter.

Virtually no screens, no play action, no slants, 1 crossing pattern , to Brown, that worked perfectly, but then no more, no draws, no quick pitches to the RB on a sweep, no bootleg, no rollout...just the same crap, game after game after game. Even in many of the victories, he needed defense to bail him out.

But, you wouldnt agree with any of that anyway...even though the word on Josh is spreading, and more and more see it....but only those with football knowledge and common sense...and that, apparently, leaves some people out.

You wouldn'tknow my opinion from your own butte because you are to busy shooting off your freaking mouth so you cannot hear anyone. My post had nothing to do with your idiocy and you couldn't answer my questions if you tried. Yet another attempt of you hijacking a thread to get your own socialist agenda in. How exciting.

I am sure that if we still had Charlie Weis as OC that we would be an offensive exploding machine...Give me a *****ng break dudes - Don't you all understand? -It really does not matter if Ronald McDonald were the OC - we would not be an offensive juggernaut or even close to one - --What part of our WR core is 'mediocre at best' do you not understand ? What part of 'our offensive line is downright offensive at times' do you not understand?

Its not McDaniels fault we did not pay top dollar to keep Deion or David or Andruzzi ect:

Lets face reality here, our current WRs who are so just average that if they were unemployed right now would probably not hear the phone ringing from a front office anytime too soon? - (Due respect to Troy of course who was great in his prime)

You are truly ignorant. Hijacking a thread? Maybe you should go back and read the title of this thread. It pertains to McDaniels, not to you.

ANd, my post referred directly to McDaniels. You are the hijacker, and you try to pass it off on someone else, as usual.

Go ahead, respond to my comments, if you are capable, which I doubt.

I hope you are able to pull your head from your anus someday.
