Here's a 5 minute clip of a documentary about Randy's offseason workout program in Florida. Looks fairly intense. Enjoy.

I agree, nice PR piece. For Moss to say "this is the difference, game 13, game 14, when you see some guys pack it in..."

Uh, yeah... like the other poster said, show us on the field, Randy.

I mean, it looks like Moss has just gotten a bad rap, it really does. The problem is, it's supposed to look that way.

    Show us on the field.

Also a B.S. piece. I wonder when it was made, most likely last year. Fort Lauderdale gets warm but rarely into triple digits and I question the 101 degrees at the intro..

    http://www.shorehaven.com/weather.htm
Last time it hit 101 in Ft. Lauderdale was July 1981, Randy was not in the league and it wasn't off-season...........

    http://onnidan.net/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=print_topic;f=3;t=006492
The hottest temperature ever recorded in South Florida was 101 degrees, on July 21, 1942, in West Palm Beach. On the same day, it reached 100 degrees in Miami.
Otherwise, the only other time the mercury swelled to 100 degrees in this region was on Aug. 4, 1944, in Fort Lauderdale, Molleda said.
The reason South Florida never experiences extreme heat: "It's our proximity to the ocean and the sea breezes, which tend to keep temperatures down," he said.
That being said I hope he does get his ring this year and everything turns out alright but this is a master puff piece....

Ummm I live down here and that doesn't take into account the ridiculous humidity. There's a very good reason our team folds like a tent when they play down here. Up north its the "wind chill factor", down here its the humidity. It easily "feels" like 101 down here plenty. Same way it's always "30 below" up there.

Maybe, just maybe, he plays his heart out and succeeds here??

If this happens - watch out NFL.

That is the Moss factor, just the potential and ability to out perform all others.

I'll be happy with "does what he's told, runs his routes, doesn't take plays off, blocks and still runs when it's not his play"

    He still hasn't proven that.

That's why I hate the Moss, Dillon comparisons.

Not many players have near the heart and guts of Dillon and Moss sure isn't one of them. Just zip it, skip the vids and play and I'll be happy.

I've got a record high in ft Lauderdale of 101 in 1981. When was this video made?

Of course I could find a better source if anyone wants me to bother.

The video stated 101 degrees with 90% humidity, it said nothing about what it "feels like".

Being a Florida resident and former Texas resident, I know which state has temps in excess of 100 and it isn't Florida. Yeah, it's damn humid. Add 100 plus temps and it would be unliveable.

I hope BB watches this video.:D

Sorry, I guess you had this covered. Oh well,I'd just like to be a fly on the wall the first time Randy tells BB his dog ate his homework.

Wow, after viewing the videos (including The Real Randy Moss Part 1) I'm surprised to then read all the negative comments here. I was impressed, because I learned a number of FACTS about Moss that I didn't know. We are going to be all right Moss-wise in New England, I think.

The director interviewed at the end of the Part 1 video makes a good point. The media's answer to the question "Who is Randy Moss" has been about three sets of 5-second video clips from the low points of Moss's career. Never mind the hundreds of hours of charitable work, hard workouts, etc. etc. Moss seems to sincerely regret some of the bad publicity that he earned --- and who wouldn't? --- so here's hoping there won't be more. I believe if there was no T.O., none of us would have quite as low an image of Moss. T.O. paved the way to the "WRs are idiots" line of thinking, which rubs off a little on all WRs (many of whom are deserving).

By the way, often forgotten detail in Moss's mooning incident is that he was playing on the tradition Green Bay fans had of lining the road and mooning the Vikings bus as it approached the stadium for games.

Isn't this the workout that Moss is missing so he can be in Foxborough for right now for OTA's? I know he's skipping his usual offseason workout in Florida to be up here and I assume this is it.

I'm a library graduate student and i was trying to find the famous "speed guru" Tim Martin. I have a lot of resources that are inaccessible to most.

He is a personal trainer and worked on the conditioning staff at Wyoming. Not trying to slam him bur guru is a real stretch.

How did Randy come to train with him?

Tim Martin was a teammate of Moss's at Marshall.

Basically, Moss has access to a patch of dirt, a bit of beach, some weight plates and a couple harnesses...

...And his College team mate who has training credentials of some sort, but is invisible on the web except as Moss's friend or an ex-Marshall athlete.

I enjoy watching it now as I find it humorous, but the running and sidestepping don't even look disciplined, do they?

His company was called the "Peak Performance Academy".

Try googling that and see what you come up with.

Man, it's hot in here, must be a 199 degrees.:D (with 90% humidity).

I agree, it's pretty easy to look at that video and say "oh so what" especially if its been a while since you've done any kind of intense training (or never done any at all...). Those workouts look pretty brutal to me, and doing it in that humidity is really impressive. Call it a puff piece if you want to, but I don't know how you can question Randy's work ethic when it comes to training after seeing that.

That being said I've never thought he would have a problem with doing the physical work, its the mental game where he has to prove himself to me. Can he learn the option routes and know how to run them correctly depending on coverage and Brady's preference? I think that is what its going to come down to and we'll have to wait and see if Randy can adjust his game to fit into the Patriots offense. I'm optimistic that he will pick it up without too much trouble but only time will tell.

Re: The Moss Methad - Offseason Training

Dude it doesn't have to be 100 degrees to make it very, very miserable. Have you actually been to Florida? The humidity makes it just godawful. My parents own a summer home there and I can assure you that when it gets hot in Florida, it's pretty damn bad.

What the video shows me is that Moss is taking his conditioning seriously. This year he really wants to show what he can do and he is busting his tail to get it done. If he comes into camp with that same attitude I think he is going to have a HUGE year, and the Pats will reap the benefits.

How can you come out of watching that and end up more PESSIMISTIC about Moss? I really don't get it. It's not like our franchise suddenly morphed into the snakebitten Celtics. I don't understand the glass half empty outlook after all the great moves the Pats have made this offseason.

No one's questioning that Moss is in shape, it's just that that video's a joke.

All it proves is he runs and does some simple drills in the off season just like everyone else.

It's plenty hot and humid down here, no need to exaggerate or act like you invented exercising.
