In one word : TURNOVERS

Not a profound statement and that can be said about most games.

However, in this game, that is vital. The Patriots cannot afford to turn the ball over, not even once. We are -3 going into this game.

We must get atleast 2 Cincy turnovers. They are +6 going into this game.
This will be the great equalizer.

2 turnovoers seems like a lofty goal since they only have one garbage one for the entire season

I'll take it a step further...

Take care of the ball.

Get a lead early.

Grind it out.

Patriots have completely lost the turnover category. Where are the interceptions? Rodney is now officially too old/slow.

Pats have as much chance of winning this game as the man on the moon.

He's got a definite height advantage, but can he play corner?

You watch, by the end of the game, he'll rise up and shed a little light on the topic.

You're right. Why even bother playing. I'm going to go clean my basement from 4:15-7:30.

The key to the game is 3rd downs - on both sides, but particularly the defense. This team simply isn't built to create turnovers, it hasn't done it in over a year and a half. Sure, it's important to avoid turnovers on offense, but as for the defense, I just don't see us being ball hawks, particularly with Wilson and Hobbs out.

What's more important for our defense than turnovers is 3rd down defense. A 3 and out is almost as good as a turnover, and we haven't had too many of those so far this year either

I truly enjoy the civility you bring to every discussion. If only you gave posters the same benefit of the doubt you gave Monty Beisel.

That said, I do think Rodney's fine - it's going to take him a few games to become the same player he was. Just like Bruschi. It took a few weeks before he was his old self, at some point in the near future, Rodney is going to knock somebody's head off clean.

That latter part was sufficient, assuming you meant stupid and crass.

It's still requires working together as a team.

All your "keys" are true.

But THE KEY to this game is turnovers. Now, don't make me repeat myself again.

I got the first half taped before the power company knocked off my VCR - but I still like my "key" better. :p

Look....breaking it down to its most basic of terms.....the key to winning this game was scoring more points than the Bengals. If we didn't do that, we wouldn't have won!

Yes....I went to the John Madden School of Broadcasting. BOOM!
