    Seems like the Senate voted
US Constitution repealed by traitorous Senators; 'Republican party now the Gestapo party' says observer

Scroll all the way down for the full list of traitorous senators who voted this in.

The bill was going to be even worse:
» Senate Bill Would Have Allowed Americans to be Detained Even After They Had Been Found Innocent Alex Jones' Infowars: There's a war on for your mind!

Paul Craig Roberts called the Republican Party the Gestapo Party; rounding you up and hauling your sorry aSs away to wherever they feel like taking you for as long as they want you to stay there. Good times.

Anyone want to place bets on whether or not we'll see Mr.PFnVA get on his soapbox and give the whole self righteous "sewing pregnant womens' legs closed" speech when a group of republicans have been likened to nazi?

Or do we think his sanctimony only applies when a liberal is called a nazi?

    LOL!

Do you actually see the Third Reich as a left-wing regime? Is this where you pretend the Nazi party was liberal? Or do you concede that they were right wing extremists, and are just perverting language like all cons eventually have to do?

    One or the other please.

    The Senate currently has:

    51 Democrats
    47 Republicans
    2 Independants

Only 7 Senators voted Nay ...
    3 Democrats
    3 Republicans
    1 Independant.

So how do those numbers relate to the thread title.

    48 Democrats voted Yea
    44 Republicans voted Yea
    1 Independant voted yea.

So please change the thread title to reflect that more Dems than GOP's voted for the bill.

Oh ... BTW ... the Bill's sponsor LEVIN is a democrat ... in case anyone is keeping count.

As your post shows we also get sanctimony when a conservative is called a Nazi.

Of course the nazi party was liberal, they were national socialists, but that's beside the point. You obviously don't have the first clue what my point is, so please stop from futher embarassing yourself.

Your post makes no sense; I haven't displayed any sanctimony at the republicans (once again) being likened to nazis. I haven't really given any opinion of it at all.

I'm just calling out one of this forum's leading liberals who got really really upset at the term nazi being used in here recently. I look forward to his scathing condemnation of the remarks in OP's article.

Funny you define this as a strictly partisan issue, Carl Levin is the Chairman of the committee (one of the biggest libs in congress) that produce this amendment in secret (McCain was the ranking minority member of the committee.

They tried to pass this by a voice vote, of course that can't happen without the approval of H Reid who controls the Senate. This was stopped by Rand Paul and another Republican.

The second paragraph are behaviors assigned typically to conservatives BTW

» ‘Indefinite Detention’ Bill Set For Final Vote Thursday Alex Jones' Infowars: There's a war on for your mind!

Paul and Amash are Tea Party caucus members, btw, so you can thank the Tea Party for protecting American's freedom.

U.S. Rep. Justin Amash opposes defense authorization bill, calling it "anti-liberty" | MLive.com

Thankfully this was defeated. As I frequently say the government shouldn't be given so much power. This is part of the problem with Obamacare, the Feds are saying they can force you to buy a product, that is outrageous.

BTW there was at least 1 network that spoke out against this amendment ....

    Fox news.

BTW Napolitano's video at the link is excellent.

Say thanks to the TEA PARTY.

They were National SOCIALIST, they weren't national conservatives. They had similar industrial interventionist policies as the current administration.

VonMises had to leave Europe in the 30 he identified them as Socialist contemporaneously. Why rewrite history to fit your prejudices and projection. Most of the mass murder in the 20th century was carried out by leftist governments with centralized power.

The only reason the Nazi Party called itself socialist was because it was a response to a an increasingly powerful German Communist party. The Nazis had the support of all the traditional right wing elements, including German religious conservatives, big business, and elements of the military. The only thing "Socialist" about the the Nazis was that they used money stolen from the Jews to set up some government programs, such as health care. Private enterprise under the Nazis did very well, and even some American companies, such as Ford, profited under their system.

If you define Socialism, as you do, to include every government you don't like and every belief system you don't like you and then rationalize the violent behaviors of the countries you like (such as the US's dropping A-bombs in Japan) you get the self-fulfilling prophecy that most of the mass murder in the 20th century was carried out by leftist governments. Both the far right and far left committed horrendous crimes, but at least the left's crimes were related to Civil Wars while the crimes of the right were related to race or religion, just as today the right has issues with races and religions that it doesn't like.

YOu are aware that Levin's name is on the bill as he is the head of Armed Services Committee and the bill is the Defense Appropriations Act for 2012, it is also 682 pages long.. as is the case they insert stuff in these bills that cater to whims...

    http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BILLS-112s1867pcs/pdf/BILLS-112s1867pcs.pdf

You also must be aware that after Katrina Bush signed into law a bill which allowed the detention of folks by our Army after a disaster, a response to Katrina.. this is shorter reading as it is only 439 pages..

    http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=109_cong_bills&docid=f:h5122enr.txt.pdf

There has been an effort since 9-11 to erode or do away with Posse Comitatus, initially by the first effort under Bush and now this.. the Army should not be involved in domestic affairs, things will get real muddled real soon if this happens.

I like how Americans were almost subjected to one of the worst laws in our history and yet everyone's first impulse is to score partisan points off of it.

I always say it, but we get the government we deserve.

Paul Craig Roberts is a completely immoral idiot for referring to the Republican Party as Nazis. That reference and all others like it are offensive to me and any santient person who is aware of the suffering of Jews, gays, Slavs, the cognitively challenged, physically disabled, -anyone who wasn't fair-skinned "Aryans". Nazis are gone and hopefully will never appear again (except for some fringe lunatics here and there). No one should throw that descriptor areound carelessly.

This post is the truth. The OP's openning post and title are false.

This bill has nothing to do with republicans or democrats as they BOTH passed this bill.

Once again, knee-jerk reaction and finger pointing over an illusion.

Profound fail .... You have to be correct in order to have a point. You have no idea what you're talking about. More perversion of language, instead.

The author of the article used Roberts' quote as the lead for the story not me LOL:rolleyes:
Either way, the list of votes is noted there:
Is this list inaccurate? If not then it's clearly R-dominated.
The author also goes on to say (you'd have to have actually scrolled down lol):
» Constitution repealed by traitorous Senators: ‘Republican party now the Gestapo party’ Alex Jones' Infowars: There's a war on for your mind!

Bottom line? As the author ststes, you people had better wake up. I agree with whoever said you get the govt you deserve.
