Everything from electronic eavesdropping to prison profiteering and abuse:

Taking the Bush Anti-Terror Legacy to Court - TIME

Latest News - VP Cheney Indicted For Prison Profiteering, Abuse

What's interesting about the Cheney story is I first caught it on the local evening news but when I checked online for a link there was NONE from that news station, nor was there one on any of the major news sites (CNN,msnbc, cbs etc). Thankfully there are independent sites which were only too happy to carry that sordid little tale. :D

they will be dodging subpeonas well into their dying years... they earned every bit of it... that's what happens when you advocate torture, lie about it, ignore subpeonas, stonewall investigations, purge emails and records, and conjure up intel that suits your agenda...

Bush betrayed me (illegal aliens) would never vote for him again, Mccain is just like him, now all we have left is an arrogant jug eared jerk who won't even show the country his god damn birth certificate, this guys nasty wife says if we ask to see his birth certificate we're racist (your going to hear that one a lot) the old whiney "race sh!t".

America is rapidly turning into a third world dictator dump and maybe it's for the best, no socialist dictator in his right mind would allow guys like Ayers/Wright/Sharpton/Jessie or Chris Matthews to run around loose.

Our new first lady is going to put on quite a show for the next four years and anybody not agreeing with her will be branded racists for life, you will see the real Michelle just as soon as Jug Ears is coronated.

Obooma was right, big Change coming.

    GOD DAMN AMERICA
    KILL THE PIRATES BEHEAD THEM

I believe that a broad pardon is necessary and prudent to repel this spiteful vindictfulness.

    Vindictfulness is not a word...

Anyhow, a pardon for what? If it's mere spite, what does the Boy King need to be pardoned for?

Bush/Cheney would face this sort of thing regardless of who was elected, jmho.

These charges transcend political barriers, and I'm not even sure Obama's any more or less likely to pardon them (should it come to that) than McCain would've been. Politicians are politicians.

Elements of our Judicial system have become ripe with political activism. Cases no longer proceed based on applicable laws but rather political whims. Appropriate actions by the President of granting pardons would be a reasoned response.

Yeah, ummm... I believe there's a glacier's amount of evidence that a potential indictment of Boy King is based on violation of applicable laws... Shall I start a list?

Whether or not people like you wanna cover for those violations based on sympathy is irrelevant...

Do you believe that the case in this thread is a proper execution of law?

What, Dr. Evil's prison profiteering? I don't know enough about it, but that's minor compared to the cases I do know about that he will no doubt be dodging.

If the illegal alien issue is the biggest thing that upsets you about Bush, then you really are out of touch.

I wonder if anything will ever come about regarding Haliburton? I have NO idea if there's anything strictly illegal there but it seems running truckloads of sand from Kuwait to Baghdad seems a bit of a waste at the very least.

The prison industry (and it's BIG business) is basically run by privatized corporations such as the GEO group which is like a branch of Vanguard and Wackenhut. They're in the business of building and maintaining prisons and GEO trades it's stock on Wall Street. Their stock rises and falls according to how many prisoners they're housing. Pretty sick way to make money.

Cheney invested heavily in this privatized market and was also involved in building/profiting from G Bay,which was, of course, built by GEO. Go figure.

Haliburton was also heavily invested in that prison in Iraq involved in all the abuse- I forget the name of it but ykwim. Long story short the more people that were in prison the more money he made. Not only that, the majority of these privatized prisons exist in God-forsaken areas somewhere out in the boonies of Texas, Indiana and the like, so literally the only actual industry in these areas are prisons. He's essentially made mega money, thanks in great part to Wall Street, off of incarcerating people. Haliburton's profits from Iraq are just icing on the cake.

    #87 Jersey

Just a hunch but I don't think Obama will pursue this in his 1st term. I think behind the scenes he will try to push it to a back burner. Should the country recover and he wins a 2nd term then I say all bets on the above are off ... I think Obama will stand aside and let justice get a voice.

Torture? Warrantless wiretapping? Fraud against the American people? Title 18, US Code, Section 371?
