It is on the ABC affiliate in Boston only, not the whole network.

Heh. I was just on my way out the door to a sports bar, cause I figured it was NFL-N only. Awesome.

There's an FCC law that requires NFL games to be available over-the-air in the local markets of the participating teams (assuming no blackout). Thus the NFL-N game will be on somebody's over-the-air affiliate in both Boston and NY.

The same holds true for MNF on ESPN. The SF/AZ game the other night was on a local channel in addition to ESPN where I live.

It's on Ch. 5 only in Boston - the NFL has a policy allowing the home fans to watch the game for free - making everyone else get the NFL network.

Unfortunately the NFL didn't get the memo that CT, RI, NH, VT and ME are also part of New England.
