What a difference a couple weeks make! We usually carry 15 front seven defensive players.

DEFENSIVE LINE (6)
Warren, Wilfork, Wright, Lewis and Pryor seem to be locks.
Competing for the last spot: Brace, Weston, Deaderick, Richard

INSIDE LINEBACKERS (4)
Mayo, Spikes, Guyton and McKenzie seem to be locks.

OUTSIDE LINBACKERS (5)
Banta-Cain, Burgess, and Cunningham are three
Woods, Murrell and Ninkovich (out??) are competing for two roster spots.
================
BTW, 8 defensive backs seem set

CORNERS (4)
Bodden, Butler, McCourty, Wilhite

SAFETIES (4)
Meriweather, Chung, Sanders, McGowan
==========

AND THE LAST COUPLE OF DEFENSIVE ROSTER SPOTS GO TO???
I expect Arrington and Wheatley to take these spots, but Williams could surprise, as could Lockett.

I think Ninkovich is in trouble after seeing Murrell last night.
On the line it's hard to see Brace not making the team being we used the 40th overall pick on him a year ago.

From what I saw, Arrington can't cover, and doesn't play the coverage. He better be a great STer.

Wheatly is playing like a 2nd rounder and Willhite is not playing as good as a 4th. Wheatly has passed both Willhite and Arrington by a country mile.

I have a feeling this will be our defensive roster:

DL: Wilfork, G. Warren, Lewis, Wright, Pryor, and a 6th guy who I'm not even going to try to predict.

LB: Mayo, Spikes, McKenzie, Guyton, Banta-Cain, Cunningham, Burgess, Murrell, and Woods/Ninkovich. I think Woods will take that spot, though.

DB: Bodden, McCourty, Butler, Wheatley (if he keeps it up, I think he can beat Wilhite), Arrington, Meriweather, Chung, McGowan, Sanders/Brown. I feel like Sanders might be traded.

Murrell, had a sack but he did not set the edge he can't cover in space and he got burned on a screen pass so he did not have a good game... him or Ninkovich, could be cut if they are going to cut a OLB
