Every day Drudge gets millions of hits, to his credit, and many believe what he has to say without investigation or thought. This morning is an excellent example.

Romney discloses income of 21 Million....

Flashback: Bill Clinton makes 76 million in year....

So what will many believe after reading these "headlines", that Bill Clinton made so much more than Romney, and he was a democrat..

Then you hit the Clinton link and up pops a CNN story....

Clinton surpasses $75 million in speech income after lucrative 2010 – CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

The sad part of this is that many lemmings are going to work this morning believing that what Romney made pales in comparison to what the socialist democrats made....

If anyone thinks that Clinton is an example of a socialist then...well....what? huh?

Really kinda sad what the internet and the 24 hour news cycle (not to mention those tickers at the bottom of the TV) have done to "news". Used to seem like news was the "who, what, where, when and why". Now it seems like anyone can sell their entertainment and opinion as a fact (and this goes both ways).

We the people dont want the news. Our national ADD can't handle it. Instead we just want to be entertained.

    Are you not entertained?!?!

PS To his credit it sounds like Romney released his Tax returns (at least what I heard on the radio this AM). So good on him.

That being said, Im sure there will be lefty lemmings who will chime in about "see how much he made!!! proof that he cant relate to the average American!!"

Like all politicians, regardless of the letter behind their name, aren't millionaires.

I don't know that anyone cares how much he made - it's how he made it and how he hid it that matters.

The agenda of the "Socialist Democrats" is how many of the right beg the issue, no one is claiming that Clinton is a socialist..

Drudge is about making suggestions and planting seeds...

Then why are most of the headlines and or comments (on places like CNN et al) about how Romney is one of the richest people to run for President ever? I actually didnt see mention of using tax shelters until I saw Ilikehappypeople's post.

To your point, I agree. But I just think its odd that all of the sudden a rich guy running for Pres - all the sudden people "care" about how rich, and where did he hid his money.....

That was kinda my point Darryl. The "news" today makes a suggestion and the sheep run with it.

OT: Kinda like the TSN guy bringing up Tim Thomas' kids names cuz it is 3 K's. You plant the seed and watch the convo go from nothing to something.

    I dunno...maybe because he is?

Maybe it's part of some nefarious plot to promote class warfare....or maybe it's just a fact and nothing more. You seldom heard Obama's name without the words, "first black presidental nominee" or Sarah Palin without the words, "first female republican vice presidential nominee." Kennedy was always the "first Catholic president." McCain was always touted as "one of the oldest candidates," and Kennedy was always "one of the youngest." Marco Rubio is often referred to as a "Latino" politician. Barney Frank is often referred to as one of the first openly "gay politicians."

It's not like they're telling a lie or even implying anything that's not true. Romney IS one of the richest, if not the richest, men to run for president. Will it make a difference in the way he would "preside?" Probably, yeah. Just like a black guy is considered to have different priorities and a woman is considered to have different priorities and a gay person would be considered to have different priorities so would an extremely rich person. Their experiences are going to be different than many of the voters.

Besides, Ronmey is using his business successes as one of his top selling points which makes his income from those businesses a big part of the equation.

You can't keep saying, "Look what I did," and then get mad when the media says, "Look what he did."

You completely 100% missed my point (though that happens on a message board).

You brought up "I don't know that anyone cares how much he made - it's how he made it and how he hid it that matters."

To which I said "All I have read is about how rich he is, not that he is hiding his money" basically saying I think your assumption that people want to know how rich, not where he is hiding his money is the issue.

He is the richest so stating that is fine as it is fact. But you countered my point (that I only see people mentioning his wealth, not where he hides his money) with a statement basically saying I was wrong (that people care cuz he could be hiding his money), and then went on to counter your point (with the the first woman/gay/black/richest would be talked about as such).

    So which is it? :)

I gave you my first opinion....and you questioned it....so I tried to come back with a "maybe" answer which means, in effect, since you didn't like my first response I offered an alternative.

Maybe it's both? Maybe it's neither?

After all, I'm not the one writing the headlines for CNN or reporting the news for any other media outlet.

Honestly, if you want to know why the media reports things the way they do it's probably very simple - they've done studies and know what sells.

John Edwards was the first with a pimple on his lip, the pimple actually moved from one side of his face to the other.

It's actually even simpler than that: The vast majority of the MSM take their marching orders from the DNC and are actively working to get Obama re-elected.

Have never clicked on Drugde's site and hopefully never will.

That being said, I try to click on any partisan site because without exception, they liars....every single one of them.

Seriously, why would anyone click on a partisan website?

Now I'll click on an independent website anytime.
