Are you suggesting signing a 4th or 5th rounder in case we have three or four defensive back injuries again? Are you willing to cut this player when only two are injured?

If the Pats see a DB in any round that is far and away the best available player, they could easily draft one. The worst thing they can do at any positon it to say, "we have such and such player rated highly, but will take a lower rated "need" position. That's the kiss of death, unless the ratings are at least fairly close. They could easily draft a DB.
 
No DBs in the draft please.

WRs, LBs, RBs and TEs, come on down.

IMHO, I see the Pats trading up a lot in this draft as they have more picks than openings by far.

I'm thinking 6th or 7th round and rookie UFAs.... mainly BB using camp to create a stable of available bodies who have at least been introduced into the system

Practice squad type guys - the Hank Poteat's of tomorrow. You can never have too many of them and you never take the attitidue that you are all set.
