The Chad Jackson Offseason Thread!

Uh, we dunno. We certainly better know soon, as Shirtsleeve points out -- although, if you have the injury history, your deal up, but the team believes in you, how does it hurt either party to sign a modest contract?

I don't think we need to be alarmist about the ability of a team to watch a player develop, if the team wants to. It's only in the "not so sure" cases - like an Asante Samuel this year - that you have the problem. I think the Samuel example is coloring our perception of Jackson.

I was reading draft analyzer a year later and listen what Gil Brandt had to say about Chad Jackson.

Outstanding measurables (speed, height and weight). The reason he fell to the second round is because the film study indicated he didn't play that fast. His 120 receptions and 16 touchdowns were too good to pass up. He probably will need a year before he blossoms. Here's a guy who -- if he stayed in school -- would have been a mid-first-round pick next year.

Hmmm....

If he needs a year to blossom then...

He is going to blow up this year!!!!!

The guy's talent and speed was needed on the field against Indy. If he couldn't break into this line up there is an issue. Wasted pick thus far.
