Perhaps nein nein nein would be a better term for this plan, all it would do is continue to rob the middle class and increase the great divide between the rich and the poor...

Study: Cain tax plan raises taxes on 84 percent

So, should 47% pay no taxes?

Yes, you are correct, there are lots of Poor ( non-tax paying people ) who would now pay for the services for which they are so dependent.

Is there something wrong with that?

Why are we shocked and appalled about people paying into this country? Shouldn't you want to pay your fair share for the good and services you so demand?

I don't like Cain's plan... only becuase it keeps the Income Tax, we can't have both, else we will simply end up with the 20 20 plan in a few years.

Also, no reports on his plan take into account a drop in prices due to a drop in expense for corporations...

Lower prices means lower taxes paid.

While the focus easily turns to the right wing talking point that 47% do not pay taxes... the figure that sticks out is those making between 40K & 75K will have to pay more than 4300 per year....

    Just what I need......

They pay no INCOME taxes is what you meant to say, they pay payroll taxes, sales tax, property tax,State tax. Also most of the upper class don't pay there full income tax because of deductions....its fun to learn!=)

So the rich pay one more tax then they do, you want a cookie?

Considering the 9-9-9 plan only addresses taxes at the FEDERAL level and you compared it with a bunch of local and state taxes, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

Do you really think that Corporations will lower their prices because they are getting taxed less

The tax savings will mean higher profits and more dividends for shareholders.

Your comment makes for great rabble rousing and message board material, but is only applicable in a monopoly situation.

In the real world, if it costs less to do business, competitors will compete and prices will come down, and customers will go to the best who can provide the most for the least. It's how the free market works.

So unless all the companies get together and say "We won't compete and keep prices the same", then your right... but then they are breaking the law, it's called price fixing.

mcgraw_wv & khayos: Do you really believe that Corporations are going to lower prices when they have less of a tax burden?

Most Corporations are paying historically low taxes right now and I haven't seen much when it comes to lower prices.

Payroll tax is a local taxs? How about SS tax? How about the medicare tax? I forget in the rich mans eyes, only he pays taxes no one else does.....

9-9-9 is a joke man, it puts more of the burden on the middle class and the poor class, but I guess someone like you would have no problem with that....

Its a tax increase on the poor! I thought you right wingers were all about lower taxes??? Or does that only apply to the rich?

Edit: You also didn't say anything about the 9-9-9 you said and I quote "So, should 47% pay no taxes?" I corrected you and said that's only INCOME tax.....That a lot of people pay a lot of taxes, that the rich only pay one more.....You want me to bake you a cake, sing you a song?

But I thought SS & Medicare taxes were supposed to go specifically to their own future benefit in a lockbox... oh... wait...

I think there are too many tax loopholes. There should be a single percentage that everyone pays, except the 5-7% of the population who might have serious hardship (disability, etc.). I think it's ridiculous that you want a system where only the highest wage earners are forced to pay in.

Where does the 47% don't pay Federal Income taxes come from? Is that from the IRS? Does the IRS explain why these people don't pay taxes? Is it because they don't make much money?

    Sorry for all the questions.

I would rather have you tell me how the 47% doesn't pay Federal Taxes. I don't make much but I pay Federal Taxes.
