In your opinion who is the best player you have ever seen that never made it into playing in the Super Bowl - Not to have won it but just to even make it there.

Your Opinion should be based on 4 things to make this credible

1) The player must be officially retired / no longer a player in the NFL
2) The player must have been in the league at least 4 years or more
3) The player could have been on multiple teams but never made it with any of the teams he was on
4) The earlier league counts as well (AFL)

WHO IS IT?

My Vote: Barry Sanders - Took a lousy Lions football team and made the team competitive almost by himself - How much worse would this team have been without Barry during the 80s? - Too bad he never saw SB glory,Or at least played in it - There will never be a runner with the type of style like Sanders again, many try but I have yet to see a runner of his type come about in the past 20 years.

Difficult to argue with that choice.

Sanders is an excellent choice. I would add Derrick Thomas.

Hard to know all the greats that never made it, but Gale Sayers comes to mind.. and my all time fave, Jim Brown is also a consideration, but not sure if he fits your criteria.

I think it would be fair to say the player had to play in the Super Bowl Era 66-present. Sanders is probably the top pick but here's two.

1. OJ Simpson.

2. L.Tomlinson. Hopefully, we can keep him out if it the next couple of years.

Barry Sanders with no doubt..had he had the team (which in turn would have given him a bigger heart) around him..I believe he'd be the best RB ever.

(1). **** Butkus

(2). Gale Sayers

Barry Sanders for me too

This is an easy question.

I say without a doubt it has to be Barry Sanders.

I was going to say Gale Sayers.

I can't think of anyone who had such an imediate impact on the sport as Sayers.

Agree, Sanders seems the no-brainer top choice, so maybe this should be about the 2nd best player. ;)

If that is the case, the first two that come to mind are Dan Fouts, Kellen Winslow and Steve Largent.

Jason Taylor is another great player who has never played in a Super Bowl.

John Randle?

Hey, what about Randy Moss?

Hopefully that will change this year.

I was hoping in a couple of years I could have replied with Peyton Manning, but i can't. So Sanders is a good choice.
