importance of position and era vs. era
I maintain that QB and DT/NT/4-3 DE are the 2 most important positions (DT/NT/4-3 DE is that important). That's why I go with Brady and Seymour.
Remeber, Brady played half of last season with the hernia.
Regarding Seymour:
1. no world championships before him
2. a world championship immediately (his rookie year)
3. 3 world championships in his 5 years
4. Merrill Hoge said he's why the Pats won Super Bowl 38 (post-Super Bowl 38 NFL Matchup)
5. 2005 Pats defense stunk until he returned from injury; when he returned: lights out!
Also, Brady and Seymour could play in any era. Hannah would be considered small now (at between 265 and 270, he probably couldn't start for even the worst team in the league).
The size of the current/recent Patriots linemen (both offensive and defensive) is also why the current/recent Patriots would CRUSH the 1970s Steelers!!! I'm sick of hearing about those Steelers teams (are you listening, Steve Sabol?!).
