13-3. I hate playing the individual game-by-game thing though.

One random W will be a L so overall Record: 12-4

I think teams are looking at our O line and drooling, because now they get a real chance to slap Brady around at will. I also see RBs that are worse than horrible at picking up blitzers.

I think the offense is going to struggle to score and keep Brady healthy. I expect to see Mallet start a few times this year.

On the plus side, I see our defense improving this year finishing in the 20's which is up from 31st last year.

Bottom line our season is going to be very difficult thanks to a struggling O-line. I see the Patriots finishing 9 and 7 and not making the playoffs.

9-7. Underwhelm all season, BB goes on hot seat, TB tosses 20 picks. Win the division on a lucky tiebreaker and some fortunate help from others. Get into playoffs and get every break imaginable, recovering all fumbles, watching other teams self-destruct. TB plays average in playoffs. Go to SB, throws up a pass into quadruple coverage that Salas catches somehow. Last minute touchdown drive caps off another average, lukewarm performance for TB, who wins Super Bowl MVP and is hailed as a clutch, elite QB.

1 - at Tennessee Titans September 9 Win

2 - vs. Arizona Cardinals September 16 Win

3 - at Baltimore Ravens September 23 Win (listen to Holst's Saturn Bringer of Old Age for a relentless reason why.)

4 - at Buffalo Bills September 30 win

5 - vs. Denver Broncos October 7 Win because that is the man who used to be Peyton Manning.

6 - at Seattle Seahawks October 14 loss because they will lose one random game and Seattle sucks enough for players to over look but has a good enough HFA to take advantage of it.

7 - vs. New York Jets October 21 Win

8 - at St. Louis Rams October 28 Win in England
9 - Bye

10 - vs. Buffalo Bills November 11 Win

11 - vs. Indianapolis Colts November 18 Win

12 - at New York Jets November 22 Win Happy thanksgiving except in NY

13 - at Miami Dolphins December 2 loss because somethings are tradition

14 - vs. Houston Texans December 10 Win Southern dome team in Foxborugh at night in December? You need analysis of this?

15 - vs. San Francisco 49ers December 16 Win Northern California is not like night in Foxborough in December

16 - at Jacksonville Jaguars December 23 Win
17 - vs. Miami Dolphins December 30 Win

14-2 first seed

What is fascinating is the number of losses due to the mythical Houston Texans.

I agree. Forget everything you know except southern dome team playing at night in December in a Northern outdoor stadium. And people are thinking they'll win?

Great positivity!

In other words, Brady's going to pull what I like to call a 'Derpy Manning' (Peyton's little insignificant sister) and yet still win the Superbowl with our very own David Tyree (Salas)?

12-4. I think they will lose against the Ravens, Texans, 49ers and lose against another random team with will make the board implode. The O line is horrible and is going either get Brady killed or running for his life all season. I am also not sold on the secondary either.

Man, this place will FREAK. OUT. if the Pats start 2-2. Then two losses in a row in December? Yikes.

I'll go 14-2. No game-by-game breakdown, but I think the Pats will be like the '10 team -- stout against top teams, couple of WTF losses along the way. Home playoff wins against Indy (which beat Denver in Wild Card) and KC en route to a stomping of the Bears in the SB.

One game at a time:

New England at Tennessee - Win :D

New England Patriots start the season 1-0! :D

1 - at Tennessee Titans September 9
Win 23-17.....offense starts out shaky, but D is able to hold down Johnson in the 2nd half enough to hold on.

2 - vs. Arizona Cardinals September 16 Win 31-20 Home sweet home. Cards score garbage time TD to make it look closer than it actually was.

3 - at Baltimore Ravens September 23 LOSS 24-20 Oline shows it's lack of stoutness against great D (even w/out Suggs). Revenge game. New kicker makes all his kicks.

4 - at Buffalo Bills September 30 LOSS 27-24 Super Mario sack party. Brady takes a bunch of hits/sacks, Pats D gets tired in 2nd half and gives up some big passes and runs to Fred Jax.

5 - vs. Denver Broncos October 7 Win 26-24 The return of "Manning face!" as he throws a critical 4th quarter pick to seal the win. Pats run the ball 35 times to keep Denver O off the field.

6 - at Seattle Seahawks October 14 Loss 24-23 Classic sandwich game, and it doesn't taste good. Fumbles, dumb throws by Brady, Oline can't make any space for RBs to get through, bad play calling...just think of that game at cleveland a few years ago.

7 - vs. New York Jets October 21 WIN 21-20 Can't knock Rex's D, it's gonna be good, very good. They will put their O in excellent field position on a couple of drives that will lead to easy scores, making the game closer than it should be.

8 - at St. Louis Rams October 28 WIN 28-17 Bradford is a beast in the making, but he doesn't have quite the weapons yet to match the Pats improved D.
9 - Bye

10 - vs. Buffalo Bills November 11 Win 31-20 By now the Bills injuries will have started to pile up and the Pats O will be rested and in high gear. Coaches figure out ways to at least stalemate their elite front four.
11 - vs. Indianapolis Colts November 18 Win 34-17 Indy needs more than Luck(or luck) and they are clearly rebuilding. Wayne scores a TD.

12 - at New York Jets November 22 Win 28-27 Tebow magic takes the Pats to within an inch of their lives, but Pats prove to be the better "team". Galvanizing win.

13 - at Miami Dolphins December 2 Win 34-17. Phins score garbage time TD.

14 - vs. Houston Texans December 10 LOSS 30-24 Uh-oh! We actually have some real legit competition in the AFC other than BAL and PIT.

15 - vs. San Francisco 49ers December 16 Loss 27-23 Toughest game for me to call, especially at this point in the season. Who won't be playing in this game because of injury might be the determining factor.

16 - at Jacksonville Jaguars December 23 Ha, Ha! Sorry..ummm Merry Xmas! Win 41-17 Pats full steam to the playoffs, Jags playing for the #1 pick score garbage time TD to make themselves feel good.

17 - vs. Miami Dolphins December 30 Win 31-20 Cold, flurries, 31 degrees, Phins don't want to be here, but put up a good game, Tannehill(sp?) shows that he's gonna be a solid QB.

I guess that bring us to 11-5. I will edit later this week and add playoffs.

I'm going to say 12-4. Personally I just don't think it's realistic to expect any NFL team to do better than that (and yeah, I know what the Pats record has been in recent years). There are almost always going to be those games that the opposing team comes up with an unexpected game plan; an injury to a key player just before kickoff or during the game; a freak play, tipped pass or bad bounce; a blown call by the refs; and one or two games that the team just simply comes out flat.

Which games those will be, who knows? But since I have to pick four I will say the Seahawks, Ravens, Titans and 49ers. I'm tempted to say 11-5 with a loss at Buffalo too but I'll stick with 12-4.

For part two I will say the Pats, Bengals, Texans and Chiefs are division winners with Baltimore and Buffalo as the wild cards in the AFC. In the NFC I'll go with the Eagles, Bears, Saints and 49ers as division winners, with Green Bay and Atlanta also in the playoffs. Houston over Baltimore and San Francisco over Chicago in the conference championships, then the Texans win their first Super Bowl.

10-6 Win division in a tiebreaker. Lose in Divisional Playoff Round.

1-4 to start the season...ouch. Think we are that bad huh?

You guys think 11-5 will get a first round bye this year? I see pats at 12-4 with a 1st round bye

I do not think we are as good as most think we are. The defensive secondary has not demonstrated it is one bit further along than last year. The offensive line is pretty shaky and we have a running game that doesn't have the same grasp of the football as our previous back.

You guys think 11-5 will get a first round bye this year?

Nope.

I see pats at 12-4 with a 1st round bye

I can only hope.
