Learn it, live it, love it, punks.

    Your style guide follows:

    Democratic Party.
    Democratic President.

    But:

    House Democrats.
    Senate Democrats.
The President, who is a Democrat, ordered Gitmo shut down.

Just so, Michael. However the noun form was never really in question. Some other examples:

You must now live under laws passed by a Democratic congress and signed by a Democratic president.

The Democratic candidate trounced the Republican candidate convincingly in the recent presidential election.

The Democratic Party also trounced the Republican Party in Congressional and Senatorial elections.

Once I hear a talking head say "Democrat Party" I stop listening, they have already started to spin, and a kid is dizzy.

It became a one party system, because the other party screwed up very well and the 'merican people spoke.

Yeahhhh and I know you guys must have complained bitterly when the one party was the Republicans up to 06.

Anyhoo, the actual idea of this thread was originally to say, what the hell is up with this "I refuse to say Democratic" crap?

So I had a little fun and got partisan in my own right. All in good fun, yadda yadda yadda.

Just say "Democratic" when you mean to use an adjective. Simple parts of speech people.

Do you feel comfortable with guys like John Conyers and Jim Moran having so much power now?

This reminds me of all the talk a number of years ago, about how the democratic party was dead. Well, in a two party system full of inept, corrupt, and out of touch politicians, niether Coke, or Pepsi, is ever dead.

Let's not forget that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid control the house and senate.

I feel comfortable enough with them in the ruling party, rather than the opposition, PFIEL. I would vote against Moran were he to run for president.

I think you're referring to Moran and Conyers regarding stances on Israel. I'll share a little secret with ya: Moran is my congressman, and I refuse to vote for him. I just leave my congressional vote blank. (The local GOP candidate is always just as repulsive for other reasons.)

But I'm not a single-issue voter, nor is Moran the voice of the Democratic party on this subject.

You're right, but if the will of the people is strong and loud enough, it will render both powerless. In other words, if Obama's support gains momentum, Nancy and Reid will be forced to cave in...or risk looking like idiots.

    I'm ok with that!
