An interesting blog and makes you almost forget about those grind em out wins from years past.

For some reason I myself sometimes miss some of those nail biters from previous years of great but not dominating teams like this years team is and what the linked blog talks about....

Is it more fun to watch these blowouts IYO? or are those nail biters missed a bit sometimes,I have to admit I loved some of those 20-17 last second wins and the under the radar wins we accomplished with no big deal made by the media.

The Colts game was three grueling, stressful hours. I felt relieved afterward, more than happy. I enjoy the 56-10 variety much more.

I don't know why, but I'd much rather watch a completely dominating performance, like the one at Buffalo, rather than a nail-biter, like the recent Indy win. Maybe I'm just getting too old, but the headache I have after a close win gets in the way of the joy I feel (until the next day when I re-watch the highlights 25 times and hope they show the game on NFL replay!).

I find this years team much more fun to watch and I'll take 45 point arse kickings anyday of the week over nail biting last minute 3 point wins. We are watching something that the NFL has never seen(to this extent) and might never see again in our lifetime. This is 27 Yankees and 85 Bears type dominance. This stuff doesn't happen that often. I don't know, but I found myself in awe after the 1st halfs against Miami and Buffalo. Pure dominance. The scary part is I still don't think we've see the best yet from these guys. This is much more fun to watch.

You know when you really come to think of it,this conversation can really make you look at the greatness of Brady 2 ways...

In the past Brady was great by pulling the joy of victory out of the apparent agony of defeat - or...

You can say Brady is great because with all the weapons he has his talent shines more than ever - or

You can actually combine both too I guess....

Nothing else to whine about I guess.
The first two Super Bowl wins are more than enough nail biting action for my lifetime.

Give me the blowouts. I've always enjoyed watching dominating performances in sports, put yourself in that position. Wouldn't you want to destroy every opponent you faced? I love watching Tiger lap the field and take home the hardware, or Federer mop the court with anyone who is on the other side of the net. For many painfull years, we watched the Patriots get eaten up and spit out by other teams, it's their time now and I can't get enough of it!

I agree. It's great fun to kick back, relax, and watch this team dismantle opponents. It's such a rare luxury, I think it SHOULD be enjoyed over games where the outcome is in doubt and you're stressing/fretting over what might happen.

Now, I want this team to run the table and say I was there to see it happen. :rocker: :rocker: :rocker: :rocker:

Did any of you catch yourself doing things in the 4th quarter of a 2007 Patriots game that you usually didn't do in the past like take focus off of the TV for a bit to do something else in the house and check on the game periodically when in years past if you even blinked, the team leading in a Patriots game changed around in favor of the other team.

I know personally that 4th quarters of Patriots games this year were far from competitive and I found myself not as glued to the TV as I usually am when watching a Patriots game this decade,It feels kind of strange - its a good thing, but strange

What you are leaving out of the equation are games like the last AFCCG, nailbiters we LOST.

If there was not a huge chance we would lose, they wouldn't be nailbiters.

So, the question is: Would I prefer to watch a dominating Pats performance in which the game is a sure-fire win, or would I prefer a nail-biter in which the Pats lose once in a while.

    Umm, give me 10-0 thanks.

While I loved 14-2, 16-0 would be a zillion times better.

My thoughts exactly. There's something extremely gratifying about following a team that no one wants to win. And to do it in such a historical fashion makes it even sweeter. It got to the point during the Bills game that I found myself laughing at how easy the Pats made the game appear.

I am always focused on the Patriots game when it's on. Even if they're up 49-0, I'm looking to see if they can make it 56-0. This is the most fun I've ever had watching this team.

I know the companies who pay for commercial advertisement in the 4th quarter of Patriots games are not getting thier moneys worth,I think most fans of OTHER teams are shutting the games off unless they want to see the thrashing continue.

I think watching this is the most fun I have ever had watching the Pats.

The Colts game nearly gave me a heart attack. Now I just sit in complete amazement and laugh everytime I see a Brady to Moss connection.

There is no better feeling than watching a complete and utter destruction because of perfectly executed football play.

I cannot believe what I am watching, can you?

It's fun getting annoyed when another team kicks a field goal to make the score 42-10 and then seeing the fellas come right back and hang another 7 on the board. I love dismantling teams and seeing their fans in disbelief in the stands. I laughed my arse off when they showed the Bills fans when we were going for it on 4th down and up 42-7 inside the Bills red zone. The look on the Bills fans faces was priceless. This is what I call entertainment at it's best. :D

The Patriots are MORE fun to watch than ever before -- it's the 9 out of 10 teams that couldn't even give us a game that make it boring.

I'm the opposite -- I love watching the fourth quarter of a blowout because you see things you rarely see otherwise. Like, how the opposing players and coaches react to being manhandled, our first stringers smiling on the sidelines, and people like Meriweather, Evans, Eckel and Cassel playing for a change.

I enjoy driving the offense into the end zone and hearing the lamantation of their fans.

You sound like you are trying to rationalize your own boredom with this team this year.

For the record It depends when the game is on. Early games I watched to the end. These night games I turn off when they pull the starters becasue I have to get up early the next morning. I can't stand close wins like the Colts game. It gives me high blood pressure and stresses me the hell out. I'd rather win big if we win or lose big if we lose, with none of that 'what if' crap like the AFCCG. Thankfully this team is winning handidly by large margins.

What I find boring is when the other team cant even put up the slighest comeptition. It seems most teams start giving up by the second quater when the game is seemingly out of hand.

I'm loving everything about this season. The total dominance, the Moss catches, the Welker zigs and zags, the Brady bullets. Seymour and Harrison holding them to teens and while Brady scores in the forties.

I love the fourth quarter when Cassel and Eckel drive over a beaten-down defense.

I even love all the b!tching from jealous Easterbrooks and Florios. Mangina struggling. The phins floundering.

    It's a wonderful, wonderful year. :D

I felt like this in '04 when the Pats were on that 21 game roll to the SB. It just became so routine to win it wasn't as much fun. When you didn't know they were going to win for sure, there was greater level of excitment. In that year the defense came out shut the other team down,we score 21-30 points and that was it. With this team the only time I got board was the Buff. game, maybe the fins game because it was just to easy. Also this year we have the factor of going undefeated,so that adds into it. But I will admit that when we get to the 4th quarter of some of these blow outs I've had enough,I know what the outcome is going to be.But saying it after all the years of bad teams almost sounds blasphemus.

Screw the nail biter games. I love to see the Pats demolish the opposition. I have never seen a combo like Brady, Welker, Stallworth and Moss it's like watching sports history being made. I love it. I have every game this season, sans commercials, on DVD, someday I'll pass it on to my 3 sons. Here's hoping they go 19 and 0 while trashing any opposition particularly the Mangenerat and his J....E....T....S which spells failure.

What the F are you talking about? Seriously, I don't understand how a PATRIOTS FAN can get "bored" by any of this.

I am enjoying this season immensely. It's not just the fact of the winning, it's watching a team working together at the highest possible level. Seeing defenders swarming helplessly around a cocoon where Brady is protected, perfectly calm, until a receiver works open and the ball hits him in the hands in mid-stride...it's beautiful.

How can you NOT love this? And please, don't give me this "Its automatic. Its not fun because you know they will win and go 19-0" because we don't know. As improbable as it might seem, that Pats could lose a game, or worst of all, not win the SB. Don't get me wrong, I think we are going to run the table, but it isn't "automatic".

I think there is plenty of anticipation. Its just during the week and in the first quarter of most games. We still have a ton of football games left and we really haven't done anything yet. Every win is fun to watch, no matter the score. I love watching dominanting teams, especially when they are MY TEAM! So I prefer to watch us blowout teams than win a tight game. I mean, come on, who on this board is actual going to prefer a tight win vs Indy rather than beating the **** out of them! Come on!

And yes, call me what ever you want, but I am worried (in the very very back of my head) of losing the SB, or even worse, getting beat by INDY again in the playoffs. Every game means something. Don't take anything for granted.
