I just bought a 10 dollar beer that i've been meaning to try.

Ok so i've been on beeradvocate.com and ratebeer.com a lot lately and i like double ipas so i figured i had to try this.
I've never had a 10 dollar beer before so I'll be sure to let you all know how it is.
    21% ABV sounds craptastically delicious.

By the way, if you guys haven't tried Dogfish Head beers yet, you have to. They are unreal.

    You should pick these up.....

I drank a few of the 90 minute IPAs before I figured out they were 9% alcohol... 40 proof beer seems like it might get in the way of the taste

the 90 minute IPA was more like $8 a sixpack

Yeah i hear ya. im expecting it to be pretty damn strong.
Probably a one time thing, or at least i hope so. but it'd be cool to be rich and have a fridge full of these things at all times if they are that good.... ill let ya know when i have it.

If you like Brown Ales, you should definitely try the beer on the first link, its amazing.

I broke down this weekend and splurged on a bottle of Utopias (didn't think they sold it in FL until my Crown Wine and Spirits said they had one bottle left in all of FL region)...haven't had the cojones to crack into it yet, plus I promised my boss I'd let him try the first decanting but I'll report back and let you know how it is once we do.

$10 beer? I guess you guys haven't been to a Patriots game recently. All they sell is $10 beer. :D

ok so i just drank the 10 dollar beer last night.

I thought it was great. i was hoping it would suck so i wouldn't consider buying it again, but unfortunately, that is not the case.

I read reviews online complaining about the huge alcohol taste, but it honest wasn't bad at all.

And as far as the hoppiness (not a word) goes, it wasn't as extreme as other weaker double IPAs.

It was fun to get a nice buzz off 1 beer too.

I recommend it, definitely worth trying at least once.

Keegs thanks for the heads up on the Dogfish Head IPAs, just picked up a 6er of 60 minute and 4pk of 90 minute (they had no 180min at Crown) and am blown away by the 60 minute (on 3rd bottle so far). Can't wait to try the 90 minute tomorrow with a nice cigar in the sun. Best IPA I remember in maybe forever, nice and hoppy without being bitter. Just wanted to say I appreciate the suggestion.

no problem man. They are by far my favorite brewery now. The stuff they make is just incredible.

You are going to like the 90 minute even more than the 60. And the 120 is pretty nuts, but not something you'd wanna drink all the time, i just picked one up that im going to save for a year or so...

You should try their Palo Santo Marron. Kinda a pain to find but it might be the best beer i've ever had. unreal.

I'm torn, I love the flavor of the 90 minute, but at the same time, the 60 minute might be a better "drinking" beer - just a lot easier to get down, and the flavor is a little easier to handle, simpler. The 90 is almost too strong to have more than 3 a day (I'm working on #4 and it's kicking my butt, but I'm loving every minute of it) - although it is, hands down, the most enjoyable beer I've ever had with a cigar. I'll ask Crown to order the Palo Santo Marron for me, they're usually pretty good about getting stuff in that I ask them for - fingers crossed. I'll report back on my thoughts, but you've had it nailed thus far so I'm trusting your call!

yeah the palo santo marron is like a "brown ale" if you had to put a style on it.

    i think it's craptacular.

and fyi it's 12% abv, so you probably won't want 4.

i'd break it into 2 on 2 different nights so you enjoy it more.

You obviously don't know my liver ;)

I'll give it a light initial touch and we'll see how it goes. I'm still on the fence about whether I should switch to Mojitos for the rest of the day, or take a trip back to Crown Liquors for another 6 of the 60 minute IPA (and to order the Palo Santo Marron - I'm a HUGE brown ale fan, the Sammy Smith Nut Brown and Newcastle are amongst my favorite browns, so given how lovely the IPAs are, I'm looking forward to see what they do with an ale!)...my fat lazy ***** says Mojito, my palate says "Please, Sir, may I have some more beer?"

the liquor store will probably have Dogfish's Indian Brown Ale which is also great and comes in 6 packs.

Yeah i was just suggesting breaking up the 4 pack into 2 days b/c it's kinda expensive and ive enjoyed it more that way, but it is fun to drink a lot of them too...:singing:
