    Banker

A wealthy banker left a $1.33 tip on a $133 lunch at the True Food Kitchen restaurant in Newport Beach, California.

To add insult to injury the word "tip" was circled on the receipt, and the banker wrote "get a real job"

people have every right to tip whatever they want, but if I was working at this place, and he tipped me with that 'message' on the bill.....let's just say....

    he'd look differently today

On Monday evening, True Food Kitchen in Newport Beach released an official statement based on their investigation into the authenticity of the purported receipt showing a 1% tip. The restaurant's statement reveals that their hard receipt copies do not, in fact, match the photo that was initially posted on futureexbanker.wordpress.com

Actually God smites blind believers who fall for internet hoaxes and use God as a weapon in wrongful condemnation.

I heard that from either Rick Santorum or Mahmud Ahmedinejad the other day.

Even it this weren't a hoax, it's not something anyone on this board should get their panties all in a bunch over. Big deal, someone leaves a crappy tip....next?

Secondly, whether a wealthy person or a middle class person leaves a bad tip, it's the exact same action by two cheap SOB's.

But again, it's really not something that should end up on a political board.

Speaking of TIP's...it means "To Insure Promptness"...so no one should leave a standard tip if you don't get good service.

Ever wonder why so many businesses have placed TIP jars on their counter that don't deserve a tip?

Any take out food does not deserve to be tipped as you're not getting any service. If you sit down and have a coffee and a muffin at DD's, then you should tip. If you go in or drive through, no one deserves a tip. Waiters and waitresses make less than minimum wage and deserve a tip. People who work in a sub shop or dunkin donuts get paid at least minimum wage.

Next thing you know, the cashiers at Stop & Shop, WalMart & Target will have a tip jar! "Hey, thanks for bagging my groceries!" Guess what? it was their choice to take a minimum wage job.

We live a guilt society where people feel obligated to tip...if they weren't tipped 30 years ago, then they shouldn't be tipped today!

How did something like that become a news story? Because they said he was a banker and so it was rich against poor.

Every minute of every day there are serving people getting stiffed or getting crappy tips. A lot of times they also get negative comments either in writing or verbally. No news story in that, it is the way it is.

And I really love when people say that tips are how they make their money to pay their bills. Great, give good service and you will get tips that match. Stand in the service station talking to other servers and ignore the customer and get bad tips.

It is the same if I go to work and do not do my job and get fired. My job is how I pay my bills just like tips are how a server pays theirs, but if I don't do my job I can not pay my bills (unless I am a politician).

The best part of the story though is the 1.33 tip, how sweet was that? Most people that get bad service and want to make a statement leave a penny. Not this guy, he was a banker and is part of the 1%. What a sweet story it makes!

Is this the winter plan of the OWS?

Hey, doesn't EVERYONE deserve a living wage? Even if they are crappy workers?
