I would also like to issue a sincere heart felt thank you for all who serve or have served in the past.

Thank You.

Your Welcome.

I thought this topic said "Thank You Jets"

It's Remembrance Day as we call it here in Australia.

A wonderful time to pay tribute to the past and present veterans who have served for their country and to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Without these people, our liberties could not exist the way they do.

Thank you for remembering us Vets! It is much appreciated and if I had to do it all over again, I would do it without hesitation.

I'm waaay up in the mountains on a small FOB in Afghanistan right now (satellite internet link....sssslowww), we had a small ceremony this morning to observe Veteran's Day and to honor our fallen. Our task force is only a little under 800, we have lost 8 KIA and many times that wounded, injured, etc. (do the math on that per 100 :( )
This went over the loud speaker;

"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields."

— Lt.-Col. John McCrae

Not to be a downer, but we observe this day we dont celebrate.

Your words are worth quoting. Your courage (and others') worth noting. It is no simple thing you do...

It is a honor to to be allowed to thank those who have served in peace or in war.

You are welcome from this old Airdale.

And I'll pass along thanks from my son, an infantryman serving overseas. He carries on a tradition in my family that goes back to the Revolution.

Respects to all my brothers and sisters who took the oath.

Happy Veterans Day to all of you who serve, and have served

You're welcome.

It will be come Thursday night when that bumbling fool (Mangini or Favre) messes something up.

Please stay safe, bro. Let us know you're alright from time to time.

I second the original post. Thanks to everyone who risks their lives on a daily basis to protect our freedom and way of life. too often these people go unappreciated, and even more disgaceful is the way some people treat them when the return home...god bless america

Good call....

Thanks for all that you have done, will do and continue to do to make this country a both better and safer one.

And to their families that likely spent many days worrying for the safety of their loved ones, God bless you for your sacrifice.

Thank you for remembering us vets and the current military personnel.

Thank you for remembering us vets and the current military personnel. I just hope the incoming administration feels the same way.

There are true patriots(not the football team) that will always remember our veterans. My father served in the Army, and my father-in-law served in the Marine Corp for 20 years. Veterans day means something to us, and especially my father-in-law, who served in both Gulf Wars. Even though the new commander-in-chief may never understand the sacrifices made to keep our nation free, we do.

We will never forget...

Thanks a lot !

Both of my grand-fathers (may they rest in peace) served this country during WWII. My Dad went to college and was part of the ROTC program at UMASS before going into the Air Force and sevng this country for 7 years and retiring as a Captain.

This day holds a special place in my heart for all the men and women who have served in the military protecting the rights and freedoms that way too many of the citizens on this country take for granted and sh!t upon.

Thank you all for your sacrifices. Without you, there would be no United States of America.

MODS: Could one of you make this thread a sticky. It, at the very least, deserves it.

Since, apparently, you don't care about the Veterans unless you post in THIS THREAD, I would like to say what I've been saying all day: thank you for all that you do and have done. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten. God bless.

From a vet of a different conflict, thank you for your service.

Note to everyone else:

I had to delete one post because of politics. Veterans Day is not about politics. Please make your political statements on the political forum.

Thank you
