A national treasure is ruined by deviants.(mostly homosexuals) Why?

    http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080613/NEWS/806130324

In the past decade, the number of complaints about explicit, open public sex in the Provincetown and Truro portions of the national park has more than tripled, Seashore acting chief ranger Craig Thatcher said. The activity ranges from flashing to masturbation to men's outdoor orgies, he said.

An example of the complaints was a call reporting Wednesday that a 65- to 70-year-old man was flashing people at Herring Cove Beach, according to Seashore records.

In a Sept. 19, 2007, letter, a New Jersey family walking with children in the dunes encountered "several couples and then a large group of men having group sex in the nude, including oral and anal sex right out in the open."

In an August 2007 letter, a whale-watch boat captain leaving Provincetown Harbor with passengers reported seeing 20 to 30 nude men "playing around" near Wood End Lighthouse.

Provincetown and the beaches are some of the most beautiful places in the world, and now with that beautiful sunset you can watch men having anal sex. Ah, nature. WTF!

I remember a couple of beaches being closed in the 70's because of this. There's a Reservoir in Southern Vermont (Harriman)that alot of people go swimming, picnicking, and sailing at,beutifull place. It was almost closed down for the same reason but the locals that swim there took it into they're own hands and booted the guys out.

I'm not sure we need some of the language used in this thread. How about simply being respectful? It doesn't really cost anything.

    Putting On My Moderator's Hat

Atomdomb, Change the title or the thread will be closed. "Thank you homos" is no more acceptable than a thread about child abuse in the Catholic Church titled, "Thank you Christians" or a thread about a black criminal that said, "Thank you black people." You could call it, for instance, "Thank you perverts."

I'm told you might not be able to edit it, so I changed the title myself. If you don't like it, tell me, and I'll closed the thread.

It's not against the rules to call people who have sex in public perverts, but to imply that gays in general are responsible for that kind of behavior is against the rules.

Cuz perverts doesn't single out an entire group like saying homosexuals does. It's not all gays that are out there "ruining" it for atom. It's a bunch of perverts who are. Patters is absolutely correct here.

most of the language is from the Cape Cod Times. I only added the word Homos. The article implied and mentioned homos as the principle perpetrators of the public sex. The title should have read, "Thank you Homos 80% of the time and the occasional straight couple. Changing the title doesn't change the fact that Homosexuality has ruined Ptown for most straight people.

Re: Putting On My Moderator's Hat

Given the title of the thread and the general tone regarding homosexuals etc, it just seemed that saying "perverts" gave the appearance of saying that homosexuals were perverts, just as the new title would seem to indicate they're deviants.

That's what I was talking about--because the OP never mentioned any straight people out there giving blow jobs or anything. See what I mean, vern?

Of course homosexuals are deviants :

"deviating or departing from the norm"

    They clearly fit the definition.

the article does mention "couples" as in a few couples. they could possible be normal couples. let's assume they are for a moment. the family from NJ sees a few normal couples having sex(unacceptable) and then the group 30-40? gay men. it's obvious this story is about homosexuals. sugar coating the title doesn't hide the obvious problem on the beach.

So are you now the arbiter of what's "normal" and what isn't? Is what you do with your wife "normal"? Are you sure?

The story said they were playing around, it didn't say they were fornicating (I wanted to say *******...but you know how it is). They could've been playing volleyball as a group and someone figured it was offensive. You don't know.

remember this from Patters to start his "Evangelical Biographer endorses Obama thread?

"Not exactly thrilled that Obama is making inroads with religious types because, obviously, the more they enter the Democratic Party, the more the Democratic Party will consider even their wrongheaded views."

its ok i guess to stereotype all "religious types" as all thinking and behaving the same way, just dont do it to a group Patters belongs to.

Yes, though I should have been more clear and referred to religious conservatives. At any rate, objecting to religious types influencing the political process is not the same as objecting to religious people or religion. I believe strongly in the separation of church and state, and don't support effort to make our nation officially Christian, display nativity scenes at courthouses, and so on. Those are political objections. Do I have anything against someone's devotion to God? No. Do I have anything against religion in general? No. But, when religion enters politics it often does more harm than good -- from the time that the Bible was used to defend slavery to the time it was used to argue against the women's vote to the time it was used to argue against mixed marriages to the time it is used to argue against gay rights. But, if some church wants to preach messages I disagree with, I respect their right, because I have the right to challenge them on both political and religious grounds.

The left is pushing homosexuality at a rapid rate, you are bombarded by it in the media, and at every turn. What is left to be seen, is how much this view is going to be rejected by the American people.

The more and more, child porn cases, I do, and everytime, the guy turns out to be some sort of sexual deviant (and democrat), the less and less "tolerant" I've become.

I must be getting old...but there's a huge difference between a guy saying "wrongheaded" and another guy yelling "HOMO! PERVERT! DEVIANT!"

I mean...Lifer--sometimes you make good points, and a lot of times Christians do get treated badly. But to compare a guy saying that he thinks Evangelical Christians have wrong-headed beliefs is a little different than the above.

And I'll tell you--my aunt and uncle got into some weird Baptist thing where they read ancient latin and so forth, and my uncle told my grandmother, who'd been a christian all her life that she had to be saved, he couldn't bear the thought of her in Hell...she was beginning the decline into alzheimers at the time, but she remembered that...and for that stupidity, I'll freely say he's wrongheaded. I'll say a few other things, but Patters would yell at me...:D

Yes, the left has pushed equal rights for all sorts of people. Gays should have equal rights, but in many states it's still legal to discriminate against them.

I'd be very surprised if there's a correlation between party affiliation and sexual deviancy, unless you consider "gays," people in mixed marriages, etc. sexual deviants. From what I've read, the people who engage in child abuse are into the issue of control and often don't have any adult relationships.

    http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_chil.htm

It does concern me though if the authorities are targeting gays and Democrats in their quest to fight child abuse.

No disrespect intended--I'm actually still chuckling about it.

I don't want to speak for FTW at all, but I wonder if he meant the media/entertainment complex instead of "the left"? And I will say, the presentation of gay people on tv is a little disturbing. The lesbians are almost always either gorgeous or they look like male professional wrestlers, and the gay men are sort of "Fab Five" clones. And very very few of the gay men I know act like that...and I have yet to meet one of those drop dead gorgeous lesbians.

I think you should pay more attention to the straight characters on tv, of whom there are many more, and who also are great looking, too. Very few of the men or women I know look or act like the people on tv, regardless of their sexual orientation.

I don't really watch sit-coms or dramas, I was thinking of that guy who's judging "she's got the look" or whatever on TV Land (bald guy--really funny), like that.

Besides which, I think if I were gay, I'd be more offended by seeing almost every tv character who was gay being a very stereotypical type.

    But that's just me.

And yes, I realize most characters on tv aren't real. Which is one reason I don't watch stuff unless it's on History or one of the Discovery channels.

The people that should be cleaning P Town up are the "good homosexuals"

It kind of reminds of the "Good Muslim Bad muslim" thing.

The homosexuals "orgying" on the beach make it look bad for the good homosexuals.

The terrorist Muslims "killing" all over the world make it look bad for the good Muslims.

The Good Should Fight The Bad (but, will they)
