As lousy a way as that was to exit the playoffs, I still think that we (both Pats fans and the Patriots themselves) owe this entire season to Brady. He basically had to take the brunt of the punishment upon himself, to keep this team in the hunt for the playoffs while everybody healed up. I can't see any other quarterback in the league--and certainly not #18--being able to do that for as long as Brady did. As for the second half of that message: we all have saw what Brady has done to make up for the "chip" of being selected in the sixth round of the draft. Now the Broncos have given him another chip, of no longer having a perfect playoff record. I have this feeling he's going to work even harder in the off-season to make it even less likely that he ever gets saddled with a second. So, thank you, Broncos, for stoking Brady's fires even more.
