hi cowboys fan here first of all i would like to take a minute to say good luck in sundays matchup may the best team win.

with that said i will comment on wearing patriots gear to a cowboys home game.first of all you have to understand what being from texas means we are very proud people we are proud of our state, our heritage, and expecailly our football team.most cowboys fans are die hard we have been with the boys through stallbach, white, aikman, and now romo and cowboys fans are very excited this year. however, we are civil people we respect your right as an american to root for the team of your choice. not only that to be rude is just not texan so wear your jersey and scream as loud as you want.we don't care
just be respectful of the fact that you are in our house if you don't go looking for trouble you will not find it

good luck

Now that is a feel-good post! Thanks bud.

I'm from Texas and I stopped by work yesterday in my Brady jersey and got boo'ed by all my employees (of course) and complete strangers. I think the dallas fans are taking this one personally.

I'll be at the game with my Pats gear on though. I invite the hate that I get.

Then again I'm 6 2" and 300lbs and easily bench more than I weigh so I don't run into to many problems.

Gabe

PS: you know that dallas is scared when they don't let ticketmaster sell tickets to anyone who didn't have a texas zip code for this game!!

Dallas is loaded with cool people and beautiful women. Wear the gear.....loud and proud. Go Pats!

I went to the Pats/Cowboys game in 1996 (we lost 12-6) and had no problems at all with the Cowboys fans.

My three brothers and I go to an away game every year in full Pats gear. Was in Cincy for the recent Monday night thrashing. Never seen so much black and orange in my life. We were the only Pats colors in our section and as far as we could see. Probably the biggest opponents to Pats ratio I've seen in any stadium yet, and just like every other stadium we've visited....nothing but good natured ribbing from the locals.

Not sure if this is why we've never had any problems, but here's the main thing we ALWAYS keep in mind: when you're in someone else's house, you show respect!

You support your own team, but you never trash theirs.

Most importantly...when you pass by a group 16 to 39 year old guys in opposing colors who start taunting you, you just smile and KEEP WALKING. Those are usually the idiots you find in every stadium (yes...even here in Gillette) who can't handle their booze and are looking for a fight.

Just my two cents.

BTW:

I went to the Redskins game at Fed Ex Field in 2003...it was the last loss before that string of wins. Even though we lost the game, the Redskin fans were friggin terrible. I was really disappointed with the way they treated me during/after the game...

The four of us were at this game too, surrounded by Skins fans. We got invited back to their tailgating spot after the game and had one of the best post game parties anywhere.

Wear your colors and ENJOY the GAME!! :rocker:

Very good point. There are idiots everywhere. Foxboro has plenty of them, just like every other NFL Stadium.

I'm going to the game next week :rocker: and I'm wondering how safe it is to wear Pats gear there. I'm leaning towards not doing it, as I don't feel like having 10 fat, red neck, Texans jump me. I could probably outrun them, but if I did get caught, I would surely be squashed. I'm a quiet, respectful guy, but my fear is that if the Pats win and some hick fan sees my classic Pat Patriot hat, they may try to thrash me. And I don't want to be thrashed or arrested. So for any of you with insider info about the inhabitants of Texas Stadium, I'd appreciate your feedback.

Also would love to get together with any of my fellow Pats fans before the game. If any of you will be tailgating, I will gladly help drink your beer! Let me know when and where you'll be.

(I was going to post this in the "Road Games" section, but no one seems to go or post there. Sorry.)

Dallas fan here.

You shouldnt have any problem wearing your gear and rooting for the patriots, the vast majority of Dallas fans are respectful of other teams and their fans so you really shouldnt have much to worry about, just dont do or say anything real disrespectful about the cowboys while your there or youll prolly get jumped (we tend not to like that,) so if you can avoid that, then you'll be fine. Now im not saying that there arent a few nutcase dallas fans, because in reality, EVERY professional team of whatever sport will have some nutcases rooting for them, the only stadium i think you will truly have a problem in, is philly, us dallas fans know alot about that. So just have some fun and enjoy yourself at the game, feel free to do some stuff in the city, its pretty fun down here.
