Just like it was supposed to be last season.

They've lost Barwin, that will probably be a bigger loss than Reed is a gain.

LOL, that's a very reliable source, but I suppose this was reported elsewhere as well, so it's probably accurate.

Sounds ike good signing for Houston. I'm just glad he's leaving Baltimore.

Maybe in the long run, but not really especially since Barwin wasn't very good last year.

I find them reliable when reporting new developments. I don't care for their occasional ranking BS and other clown writers, but as far as breaking news go, they're as reliable as any other sports site.

I have never seen a Super Bowl team go into this much of an overhaul. On offense they lose their center and best WR, and I think their starting LT is a free agent. On defense, they lose Reed, Lewis, Ellerbee, Kruger, Williams, Pollard.

It was a great defense two seasons ago, a good last year before Cushing got hurt...a great front seven, Ed Reed improve that secondary.

Ed Reed is past his prime. He may improve their D but not considerably. Ravens fans were not pleased with his play last year.

They still don't have a franchise QB and the D isn't good enough to let them get away with it. AFC play off team but not on the same level as Pats/Broncos.

Why would you underestimate the Texans? Tom Brady has never enjoyed throwing against Reed and don't forget they still have JJ Watt who is a monster. Connor Barwin isn't a big loss for them as he had minimal impact last year.

On offense the Texans still have Andre Johnson and Arian Foster. Sooo. yeah, not a picnic for our defense to face either.

As for Reed. BB has admired him from afar for a long time. But McCourty is cheaper and already in the fold. He makes a pretty good FS. Adrian Wilson gives us our hard hitting SS combo. Didn't see Reed coming over after the Wilson signing.

Although I am luke warm to the Adrian Wilson signing, I never understood the whole idea that the current Ed Reed is anything special. At this point he is just an above average safety who has some injury issues. To be honest, I don't know how much of an upgrade he is from Glover Quin who actually played pretty well last year.

    I don't.

Brady and Belichick will "over-respect" Reed and never take any shots near him because they fear what he used to be.

Like said above Quin could do everything

I would love to face the texans in playoffs again. As long as they have Schaub back there..i will gladly take them over Balt even with them losing a ton on D

Yeah, I don't know why they just didn't keep Quin. He got $4.7 million a year. Reports are that Reed got $6 million a year. I would have rather had Quin at those prices.

And the Ravens only had Flacco, the Giants only had Eli, the Colts had that choking dog named Peyton, the Steelers only had Roethlisberger in his second year, the Buccaneers only had Johnson, the Patriots only had Brady in his first year as a starter, The Ravens only had Dilfer, etc... That line of thinking works, right up until it doesn't.

Exactly. All it takes is for Schaub to go on a roll and "game manage" and as long as the rest of the Texans do their part, they have a chance. Schaub isn't a superstar but he can get the job done. A career QB rating of 91.9. I would go so far as to say worse starting quarterbacks than Schaub have gone on to win Super Bowls. I would not dismiss Houston so easily.

The bigger issue for the Texans is whether or not Cushing can stay healthy. If so, they'll be pretty scary on D. It's a good thing they're stuck with Schaub, but even he's potentially good enough to win a SB if the defense is good enough.

Trent Dilfer. Rthlsbrgr with a QBR of 22 comes to mind. Of course the refs really won that SB for the Steelers.

The Pats should not be overlooking anyone. They are 7-7 in the playoffs since they won SB 39. They done plenty of choking themselves.

Barwin gone, Quin gone, add Reed...on paper, the Texans are weaker than last year, and last year, they were very lucky on the injury front, other than one linebacker.

I don't know if they win their division this year, honestly.
