I'll go for FA premier league ... more intense than the World Cup anyways...the rest of it :p

As for Spotted Dick ...WTF is that? I would prefer a mole on mine...maybe a couple placed on the top a few centimeters from each other.[IMG]

As for the mini skirts...Give credit to the originators however I prefer the spanish girls in their short black skirts over the English girls any day of the week.

Just the stuff to eat if you're planning on entering a Vince Wilfork look-alike competition!

Anyway, I guess I'd rather have my dick spotted than moby ...

Nice list. I have my reservations about #5 and #6, though for slightly different reasons.

    Alright then, spill it.

Nottingham women? (I've only been to London, Manchester, Blackpool and Middlebrough)......most of the rest of your list are shared by Ireland, etc., so they don't ring unique to me but I know what you mean. So let's have it about the women of Nottingham (all except Maid Marion).

(The viewpoint of our English brethren are somewhat tainted about their own country so I've dismissed heir lists as bullocks.)

Nottingham has a pile of women with all sorts of stats about the ratio by which they outnumber men. I did my undergrad degree there and did an appalling job of "scoring". I was a shy whippersnapper back then, straight from a boys' school. :(

    That's it then, a ratio?

Reminds me of Bill Forsyth's movie, 'Gregory's Girl.' Andy and another nerd get turned down by ALL the girls in school from age 11 on so they decide to hitchhike to Caracas, Venezuela from Glasgow becuase they heard the ratio of women to men is 7 to 1.

Women are never quite so desperate......

I have a question for our English friends. When and why did they start making actors, singers, and entertainers Knights?

Sir Lacelot, Sir Galahad, Sir Bernard Montgomery, Sir Winston Chruchill, and Sir Elton John (not even his real name). Which one doesn't fit??

I'm serious, sort of, I've always wonder why they did that. I know tha it's an honor but it had been for those who did a remarkable service to the country.

I thought it's a way for the gov't to say Thank you for the millions of dollars you gave us by being in the 99% tax bracket. I'm serious.

The top rate of tax in Great Britain is 40 per cent (although even that is too rich for some knights -- *cough* Sir Sean Connery *cough*).

The first theatrical knight was Sir Henry Irving who was knighted by Queen Victoria.

Who gets a knighthood and why is a complicated and quite boring subject. Some are inherited (actually, these are called "baronetcies" but the person has the same title), some come automatically with promotions in the civil service, diplomatic service, armed forces, and some are given out by politicians acting in the name of the sovereign, with some sort of scrutiny by civil servants. If you know about this, you can tell why someone has a knighthood by what letters the person puts after his name (it tells you which "chivalrous order" he belongs to).

You don't want to know any more, do you?
