He should lose the money he got in bribes. I hope this doesn't interfere with whatever they're doing to fine/tax him; but an 85 year old is a bit old to lock up IMO.

How will the righties respond to this poor Ted thread, he was convicted under George Bush and now Eric Holder decided not to proceed because of prosecutorial misconduct.. hooray for the constitution.. he is guilty as sin, the dumbass prosecutors blew it..

By the way did that Congressman with 90 grand -- that "he knew nothing about" -- stashed in his freezer ever resign??? Last I heard he was fighting it and seeking re-election. Wow, talk about a miscarriage of justice on THAT one!!!

OH, that's right! He's a Dem, so his crimes don't count.

Every district hates politicians, except for their guy that brings home the bacon. In Stevens case, whenever he brought home the bacon, someone else would slip a few biscuits in his basket, if you know what I mean.

I'm shocked that people are surprised by this. The one guarantee, or close to guarantee, is that politicians won't do time for their crimes. Lose their job? Maybe. Doing time? Hardly ever. I wouldn't be surprised if the evidence was held on purpose, so that this very result would happen.

Name one member here who ever, ever, defended that Louisiana congressman. It was always unanimous that the guy was slime. Is this a backdoor defense of Stevens?

Anyway, he's not going to have to go through the indignity of any more court room bull schwa.

Don't have a heart attack or let your head explode over it. If you want targets of of FAR greater value, there are several still in Congress .... start with Chrissy Dodd and Barney Fwank. :D Oh, and that Jefferson dude, aka "90 g's in his freezer", who is STILL sitting in Congress, ... all paid for by the US taxpayers.

    ******LITHUANIAN NEWS ALERT********

Jefferson was defeated by Joseph Cao in the last election.. and his trial has not yet taken place, forget about that constitution thing again..

More about the subject at hand from Politico... sounds like sloppy work during the Gonsalves/Mukasey administration.. what will happen now is a whole bunch of other cases will have to be reviewed and many cases scrutinized due to this misconduct....

YEAH!!!! Don't those prosecutors know by now that a Congressman's freezer is like a "Diplomatic Pouch", it is "untouchable by law"!!!!

Note to above poster: getting a life -- sooner rather than later -- would be a TREMENDOUS advantage!! :D

I suspect that these prosecutors will not be screwing the team who prosecutes this case..

No comments on the information that Jefferson was not in power????

Interesting, but shows your overall lack of knowledge as to what is going on here in the US...

Classic that he gripes about a crooked Louisiana Congressman being in Congress - - who actually ISN'T anymore.

Yet not a word from him about the Senator from Louisiana who IS there! :D

Yeah, but if you want a REAL piece of work, you gotta go with da mayor of Nawleans: "It's all Geo Bush's fault that the hurricane ran over our levies ..... that we had no contingency plans ..... that we didn't get the people out in time ..... that I let them stay drinkin' and whooping it up -- gotta make them bar profits, y'all -- until... Big Katrina hit us up side the head. Geo Bush did all that!! Bad Bush!! "

    Downer News Bears redux.

You keep bringing this up, the facts are that the Army Corps of Engineers are responsible for the levees.. you got smacked down for this about four or five times now.. Nagin has little to do with the levees...

Correction, yet again: No, no, no, I didn't get "smacked down" by anyone. The Corps of Engineers is responsible for maintaining the levees, but it's the mayor's job to tell people to get their asses out of town when a category 5 is zeroed in on them!!!! That malfeasant dumb horse's butt had his people all drunk and partying like it was Mardi Gras while Katrina was making a bee-line for the Superdome. It ain't the Corps responsibility to tell people to get out of town; that's the mayor's job. Or do you think his job is only to drive around town and look good for the TV cameras???

But, of course, it was "all Bush's fault".
