... "irresponsible to link my comments about receiving audibles to spygate..." "in my purest heart, never got videotapes, never saw anything like that..."

he goes on to mention about how these allegations would "taint" their accomplishments if true, but coming from a former player who isn't exactly enamored with the Patriots (concussion-gate and such), he sounded skeptical.... yeah I know, another thread, but i was surprised by his tone and how nonchalantly he dismissed all these allegations

i still dont get how the spygate tapes relate to a defensive player on the team.
its just a case of anything *patriots* goes. Whether it makes sense or not.

Re: Ted Johnson on ESPN now....

The press is obviously bored.. no other explanation.

Re: Ted Johnson on ESPN now....

I hear Mark Schlereth talking about this on Cowheard this morning (before I put in a CD).

Basically, a few years ago Ted had a quote to the effect of "i don't know how it used to happen, but on some Sunday mornings we'd get a sheet of all the offenses audibles."

This was years before the Spygate mess, but I guess someone found it and is now trying to breath life into it.

Obviously has nothing to do with stealing defensive signals, but expect accusations of Pats micing up defensive players to record offensive audibles to make a resurgence in the media.

Well, NFL season is over. Spring training is just beginning, March Madness is still a few weeks away. This is the dead time for the mainstream sports media.

Well this was re-hashed today by colin cowsa$$ that in 2005 Johnson went on some show and said something to the effect of "it seemed weird to me that an hour or so before the game someone would come into the lockerroom and hand each one of us a paper with all of the audibles for the team we were going to play....i thought....How did they get them?" Fact is, every team does something.....whether they tape the game legally and then find a way to zoom in on the defensive coordinators somehow.....or use binoculars and write down codes to emphasize each defensive play etc.....it is being done by everyone.....Cowsa$$ made it seem like the Pats are the only one doing it.......
