Yes ... I used the word pimps ... I also wanted to use the word HO's but got to respect the forum a bit.

Here is a great article in few words explaining why the change of guard means nothing. This country simply needs some astute belt tightening with a long term plan to better solvency. Less waste and less payments to foreign countries including no wars would be a great improvement ...

Would be nice to have some moderation in DC ... the sine wave is killing us.

    anyways here's the bit:

I'm so sick of hearing this crap. My district, in Massachusetts, is going conservative. You can tout all this tea partiers are shill BS but I know the folks here and they're descended from the pilgrims and ready to do what's right.

65% of our budget is related to entitlements .. that leaves 35% for military, highways, etc...

I'd love to see change ... the reality is that there is little fat to cut and what is cut will be symbolic more than anything. what we need to do IMO is bring manufacturing back into play in this country and expand the tax base. We need to give huge corporate tax breaks to companies that manufacture in the USA ... and screw China being unhappy with that.

Everyone should pay some taxes ... even if it's 1% of earnings. When we expand the tax base and shrink government a bit we'll be on the right road ... simply decreasing government won't work and it actually will add to the unemployment in the country.

Expand the tax base and shrink government.... what the heck does that even mean? More people paying to make government smaller... what's the point then???

I think Medicare and SS are worth saving to most people, but not in their current size or form. It's time to restructure, downsize, and realocate the programs and resources of government.

A little OT, I know, but I saw an ironic bumper sticker yesterday that said "Got Social Security? Thank Democrats!" No, I won't thank either party, because they know the system is failing and do nothing about it. And as of now, I WON'T have social security.

Actually 51% of the budget is devoted to military spending.. hard to find as it is spread out all over the place...

The US spends more on the military than the rest of the world combined. I've always been a big supporter of the military, but do we really need 11 carrier battle groups for example. I just read that Britain and France are working on combining the operation of their TWO carriers. I think we've gotten a lot out of hand.

I actually don't mind the carrier groups, as I prefer them to having a physical foot print in so many nations across the globe. I'd rather the ships, to bases is basically what I'm saying. I'd move to close our bases in countries all over.

I could have included the base issue but i didn't, i thought pointing out the 11 CBG's would have been sufficient to make the point. It costs at least a Billion a year for each carrier, never mind all the support ships, including subs.

Oh and you all realize that the tea party started 2/19/09 because of Rick Santelli right?
