Similar to the Patrick Chung thread that was also made, this is another set of players, one that was just drafted and one that was drafted last year.

Between the two of them, who do you think has more of a chance of starting? And who's skill set could potentially bring more to the team? And for those of you who are draft gurus, I think I speak for the majority of people when I say I don't know much about the two players other than Price had two back to back 50 catch seasons, and that Tate was a pretty solid second round pick till he hurt his knee.

Also, if you had to compare each of these players to someone else in the league, who would it be?

Due to Tate's knees, I think it's Price, he has the measurable stats to be a burner, as well as the physicality to make catches over the middle if necessary.

This year, week 1: Tate. Brady seems high on him.

As far as comps go, how about Aromashodu for Tate?

Barring injury, neither will be more than a WR4 as we speak.

(More than likely to start Holt, Edelman (slot), Moss )

i don't think any of them will do a whole lot this year.

Brandon Tate = Bethel Johnson, good kick/punt returner who will catch one or two deep balls a year.

Taylor Price, could turn into a David Givens, type guy 60 rec and 700 yerds a year. they are both 6ft 215lbs guys who are faster then they look

Disagree. I think Tate can run routes well. Big question is whether or not he can stay healthy.

Both will be upgrades compared to Sam Aiken, but I'd expect Holt to start over both of them, at least to start the season.

I like Price over Tate, but both have some promising skills. Neither will be the next Randy Moss, but that's okay too.

I hadn't head this. When Brady went out of his way twice to say what I great off-season Tate had, I assumed he was doing okay. Tate's hands are fine. Is he not learning the playbook? Or can't he get open?

He's just guessing. No one knows for sure what Tate is capable of yet.

It seems unlikely that either Tate or Price will beat out Holt and Edelman for reps. If I had to pick one for 2010, it would be Tate. He will active as a returner and will get opportunities. If he does well early, he could get lots of reps. Barring injuries, Price seems likely to be inactive for most the season. Certainly, I would rather have the three TE's active instead of a 5th WR.

Tate is going to get the first shot because he's had a year to learn the playbook and is a KR, and BB had better damn use him over Welker. I am sick and tired of seeing Welker being overused to the point of accumulating a lot of wear and tear.

The one problem we had last year was other than Welker, we did not have a WR who was ballsy to go across the middle. Moss is too valuable to do that, but did it a few times anyway, and don't even get me started on Galloway. It was embarrassing to see him run routes across the middle.

If you look at Price, you see he has the toughness to do that. He has taken quite a few whacks but holds on to the ball and bounces right back up. That is the toughness and intangibles that I like to see in a WR, and that is why he is my binky for the most part, however we will see how well he can handle timed routes and options based on coverage. That is a steep learning curve.

I believe that's why we have 3 new tight ends.

Tate and Brady already have pretty good rapport. I expect Tate to start opposite Moss in some formations. If he stays healthy, he may get more snaps than Holt.

If memory serves, Prices' measurables were very, very close to Greg Jennings.

Edelman was quite willing to go across the middle.

Yeah, I expect Edelman to be our slot, over the middle guy. I see the starting 3 as: Moss, Holt, Edelman. When Welker comes back, of course that will change. Thankfully having Tate and Price likely bumps Aiken out of the WR rotation. So Price and Tate will be competing for WR4, and I expect Tate to have the edge right now because of his experience ... barring injury that is.

Honestly, I'm just not confident that Tate can stay healthy. Price is my binky, although I'm not thrilled that the rules will force him to miss so much time. My final answer is Price.

He did mostly slot work. What I mean is going across the deep middle where the hits are devastating.

They're virtually identicle, which is great news as far as upside, which is why I'm high on price. But well seehow he does.
