Jaguars claimed former Patriots wide receiver Taylor Price on waivers today.

    Yeah his career is toast.

He'll probably see the field though. You never know. He may make something of himself there. Not like they have anything slightly resembling a WR.

Interestingly enough the Jaguars have another player the Patriots drafted and cut who has surprisingly made a decent career for himself. Can you guess who?

I'm sure this will be a success.

After all, it worked out so well for them when they claimed Terrence Wheatley.

he might instantly be their best WR. Supposedly 5 other teams claimed him too.

We play the whole AFC South next year, so we will face him in 2012 if he sticks with them. Not that such a thought should make us shiver or anything.

Hopefully he makes the best of this new chance ... good luck to him - he was stuck behind too many great receivers here. Getting cut does not mean you suck - there just was not enough need for his skill set over here.

I liked Mincey, but wasn't that an issue where we were expecting to sign him to the PS and he got signed?

    Yep...

    Mincey's a fascinating case, isn't he?

Flops around for 4 long years, producing 2 Sacks, spending a lot of IR time, and getting cut GOD only knows how many times...

Then, in his 5th year, he suddenly starts to rock and roll.

I'm interested to see what underwood does down the stretch, he could be really good.

Bust!!! :D Nice move by the Jaguars, they'll give him a good opportunity to move up the depth chart and establish a rep with a young quarterback.

I hope he can get on the field and produce for the Jags. While I am often critical of BB's personnel moves, I think it was a good draft choice at the time.

Bill probably tried him at defensive end in practice and was incensed when he couldn't play both ways.

He's probably just not very good. I'm glad they cut him. Belichick has an extremely good record of know when to let people go. The list of guys he's cut that have gone on to prove him wrong is pretty much non-existent.

The only gripe to have here is what appears to be a talent evaluation problem, either that or a long frickin' drought.

Hey, maybe that's why Belichick always works to get so many picks. He knows the scouts suck, so he figures if he gets enough picks a few will pan out on pure luck.

Seriously, with all the 2nd rounders we've had we're due to get a stud pretty soon just based on statistics.

(To be fair, Gronkowski has been a 2nd round steal. He'd be a top 10, maybe top 5, pick in a 2010 redraft. You can make a good argument that he is the best offensive player drafted in 2010)
