According to PFT, the Bucs signed Jeff Garcia to a deal more or less equal to the deal Chris Simms got. They also acquired Jake Plummer for a conditional pick in 2008. Presumably, the Broncos get nothing if Plummer retires, and both teams are more or less off the hook. Not a bad deal, and if all three play you've got one legitimate QB too many on the team, and can deal him off before the deadline for a pick or player.

WHAT?????

Actually, reports came out that the Plummer deal was rescinded when Plummer said he'd retire. Then there were rumors of a 3 way deal between Denver, Houston, and TB.

Now? Who knows that will happn.

The Broncos announced it in their press release talking about the acquisition of Dan Wilkinson, which happened just an hour ago. The original trade was clearly not supposed to be for a conditional pick. The whole Plummer retiring thing forced Denver to offer a conditional pick instead, which obviously becomes nothing if he does, in fact, retire. With the signing of Garcia, this turns into a bit of a sideshow act but it forces Plummer into a corner, too.

Plummer's retirement, by the by, was supposed to be a way for him to unretire a few months later and go play for the Texans.
