Trying to kill time at work on a slow Friday afternoon, so just for fun: I'd like to see all the players the Colts lost listed in one place, off the top of my head, I'll do my best job...

    Cato June
    Anthony McFarland
    Tarik Glenn
    Nick Harper
    Dominic Rhodes
    Brandon Stokley
    Jason David
    Montae Reagor
    Mike Doss

    Did I miss anyone?

Anyway, this thread wasn't as pointless in pointing out that the Colts are now finding out the hard way that being a Super Bowl championship team isn't easy.

After hearing Curran on EEI today and reading one of his latest articles on MSNBC, I got to thinking - Super Bowl champs or not, I think the Colts were probably the third most talented team in the AFC last season, and they only likely got worse.

Bottom line, the Pats chief competition is San Diego. I'm not afraid of Indy.

Better throw Denver in that mix..Denver may actually win the West.

Well the Patriots have lost their last 3 games vs the Colts, havent beat the Colts in almost 3 years and the upcoming game this season is at Indy. Its not a guaranteed win.

Colts fans aren't allowed into this thread. I wouldn't want to disillusion you guys, that'll happen over the next 20+ weeks.

I don't think it matters where that game is played,Peyton has looked very comfortable in the confines of Gillette Stadium in the last 3 years so its gonna be a barn burner regardless of the home stadium,Another close one to the wire.

...but of course, you are not worried!!!!

Many of those losses are gains! As in, watch Manning light up David in the opener.

I'm cooling on Denver. They made some big moves but the Broncos are a team with some holes. Their run defense should be below average, with Al Wilson gone and the Dline a crapshoop. Also, the expectations on Jay Cutler are way too high. The guy is a 2nd year player with some 6 starts under his belt. Cutler will likely occasionally struggle, and it might cost the Broncos a game or two.

San Diego is too talented and too deep to give up that division.

Luckily half the guys that beat us are no longer Colts.

Anyway, what happened last year and the year before are hardly predictors of what will happen, or you never would have won those three games. Up to then, we had won several in a row.

You guys need to remember those guys in Baltimore too. Sure, we got AD from them, but there's a young feller name a Bart Scott, and an ol' feller name a Ray Lewis. And a couple others.

Their offense doesn't scare me. Their defense should at least get them to the playoffs, if not the AFCCG

In 2001, Brady was a second year guy with no starts under his belt. He occasionally struggled, and it cost the Pats a game or two. But he did okay overall that year.

I'm probably more concerned with the Broncos than the Chargers at this point. Indy is less a concern. Even if they beat us in November, it won't matter because I doubt it will define home-field adavantage. They are going to lose a lot of games.

The Chargers I wasn't too concerned about, as they seemed to be the typical bunch of superstars that didn't make up a team. Merriman dropping his sack dance is a very bad sign for opposing teams. I am much more concerned about week two now. This is the kind of team first attitude that can infect a locker room. If Tomlinson can dry his tears and stop blubbering, the Chargers will be tough. Luckily they still have a QB that squeals like a little girl. "<squeal> You're the worst cornerback in the league <squeal squeal squeek>"

Unfortunately for us, Harrison was out of all those games. Give us equal luck with injuries, so far so good, and it'll be a different result. Guaranteed.

Its still a recent trend, and gives you more reason to not take the game lightly. I have a feeling Belichick is taking the game a little more serious than some of the fans on this board are. Denver also has a 3 or 4 game win streak against New England also so, if Im a Patriots fan, Im not gonna take the Colts or Broncos lightly considering the recent trend.

If they can mount a sustained pass rush this season. If not, you're looking at 9 - 7 again, maybe 10 - 6, but either way, that's not going to be enough to take that division. It may not even get them a wild card.

'Course, if they do find a pass rush, then we'll have to see how that LB-ing corps manages against the run.

With the kid Cutler, we have to see how he responds to his baptism by fire. Handling the QB situation the way he did last season was a big gamble by Shanahan that didn't pay off. We'll see if there is any payoff coming due this season.

All that having been said, they do have a relatively easy schedule, so...

Still and all, color me skeptical of this Denver team at this point in time.

And keep San Diego in your sights.

    And maybe Indy....

    And maybe Pitt....

The Pats haven't been at full strength for those games, either. Rodney alone has played like a total of 7.2 seconds.

I do not care who the Colts have lossed, the bottom line is they have our number and have beaten us both in the regular season at home and on the road in the playoffs. They got the monkey off of their backs in the AFCCG, they have the hammer and we don't until further notice...........

I basically agree with this but don't you think Ray's getting on a little.
I mean he wasn't all the rage last year. Maybe he was hurt or something.

Yeah, but that was a once in a lifetime exception. Look for Cutler to morph into the man he replaced...... Uncle Rico....

I have a feeling many of those losses are excuses waiting to be used.
