This seems to be the sentiment from fans everywhere. go to any rival site and I guarentee you there is a patriots thread. open the thread and you will see idiots talking about our "lack of class" yet ironically the suggest taking bradys knees out. THATS WHAT THIS HAS COME TO GUYS, scared and insecure fools no longer able to think up a real way to beat the pats so the suggestion of intentionally injuring #12 seems rational. now thats class:rolleyes:

if it wasn't for running up the score, it would be for something else. It's the nature of jealousy and resentment.

If the Patriots continue to keep Brady in a game that the team is leading by 30 or more points in the 4th quarter then some defensive lineman are going to be going after his legs and one of these guys will be one that does not care about a fine or suspension - for that I am worried,It almost becomes inevitable if it continues although just because they will try to injure Brady does not mean they will succeed.

I could not agree more. Nothing scares me more than a Brady dropback in the fourth quarter when up by more than 30.

I wonder if Colts fans were similarly worried when they had all the 16-0 hype a few years bac and Manning broke the TD record?

    Genuinely curious, not being snide.

To be fair, it's any team's best chance to beat us.

One of the Colts fans posting on this board said as much last night in a different thread.

I think this is part of the team's determined attitude... DO NOT PLAYED SCARED. This will carry over to later in the season, if they have a chance to go undefeated, and into the playoffs, if they go undefeated, so they won't tighten up. Bottom line is, injuries happen. The Patriots just want to win football games.

I have heard that a lot also. It is scary.

I would like to think that the actual football players respect eachother, the game, or appreciate the fact that football is there livelihood. I know there are some real dirtbags out there, but you also hear how manning and Brady are friends, and you always here how players on opposing teams are friends off the field.

Like I said, I know there are plenty of dirtbags in the NFL, I just hope there are enough decent people out there to hold them back.

In addition, our O line (and Brady) probably have heard this crap also, so they are probably on the look out.

This is psychological warfare. They're inside all of these teams heads now. This is what happens when you start sowing doubt into their brains. Pretty soon. Quit worrying about injuries my marshmellow brothers.;)

In fact, let's say the Pats kneel down for the second half of a game, that means you have our defense on the field who would risk injury. Defenses tire more quickly than offenses and injuries occur when people are tired.

Embrace the hate. It only stings until you realize you like it.:D

the press can take credit for this. constantly harping on the pats running up the score. wheras when the 2004 colts were running up the score..it was ...what an awesome team..manning is unstoppable. and if it were to happen they will say ..well belichick is to blame..practically putting a price on Bradys head. and he had it coming. disgusting!

What are you talking about I am still worried. I don't always agree with Indy coaching decisions but then again I am not paid to be a coach. (Irony is I do pay for season tickets...so something is wrong in that equation)

I didn't say for them to kneel down. I simply asked them to take Brady out of the game when it we are ahead by more than 30 points. That way, we can still play the game without risking injury to our best player.

I disagree. History tends to bear out that PLAYERS (on any team) take a serious dislike at the notion of DELIBERATE ATTEMPTS to injure. It makes for cute Hollywood movie lines ala "Sweep the leg" Cobra Kia stuff. But it's unrealistic to think that many players would deliberately go out there with the strict intent to "Get Brady" and end his season/career.

Sure, there are low blocks and "horse collar" heros out there, but for the most part, I view those much like holding penalties (i.e. compensation for poor technique, or getting schooled on a play). I think that the mentality that would have a player say "I'm gonna go out there and break his leg on this one" is pretty rare.

We FANS may think like that, but our multi-million dollars careers are not at stake either. Players know that you are one play away from "ending your career", and I'm sure they take that serious.

It's still not without risk though. Put Cassel in their and we will sputter, no doubt. That still means more time for the defense on the field. We don't have enough people on the roster to put in an entire 2nd or 3rd string team out there.

There's a risk every time he's out there and if they weren't that good, he'd be in there and probably getting pounded a lot more.

I don't claim to know the reasons why BB does what he does but I can tell you that it's likely been weighed and measured against something else. He doesn't have the luxury of looking at things in a vaccume.

    Disable Jersey

Well said, but let me drift into the realm of fantasy here.

Besides inviting immediate retaliation from guys like Harrison who don't care about their already nasty league image and DO care about their QB, the Pats would just play Matt "Michael Vick" Cassel. A QB who'd outrun defenses for TDs and then kill the offending players' dogs! BB is a truly evil genius.

This stuff does happen. Did you see this hit Stephen Copper laid on Matt Schaub yesterday? I am still waiting for it to show up on Youtube.

"Texans quarterback sent to hospital after being hit

Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub left Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers when he was hit following his second interception of the afternoon.

"Schaub was taken to a hospital for evaluation, Texans coach Gary Kubiak said.

The exact nature of the injury wasn't announced.

Asked if it was a concussion, Kubiak said: ''I don't know. I don't want to pass judgment. He's at the hospital getting tests done.''

Schaub was leveled by linebacker Stephen Cooper, who was called for two personal fouls, a hit to the head and unnecessary roughness. The first penalty was declined."

After watching Brady's truly scary demeanor on the field yesterday (the intensity and focus), I have to say I don't think he has a problem with this at all. He's like BB would be if BB was a HOF QB. Yikes, he's scary.

Same with Manning. Anyone remember that hit put on Manning when they played the Redskins last year? He looked like he was going to be snapped in two. All he did was get up, take a deep breath and proceed to destroy the Redskins thereafter. It was a serious F U moment.
