I saw this and figured it was relevant based on our past discussions of Westboro and Fred Phelps. This is a huge case as the Supreme Court may feel a need to furthur clarify the first amendment.

The case is not expected to fall into the usual conservative/liberal lines which makes it even more intriguing. Many Americans feel this is a privacy and harassment issue and not a free speech issue. Other Americans feel free speech must be protected regardless of the emotional harm it may cause.

Sure, they can have their "free speech", as long as the resultant flying fists are labeled "crimes of passion".

So, maybe a protest group needs to ramp up to protest at the funerals of the douchebags who go to this church. "God hates Westboro"?

Rarely are Cemetary's public places. They simply need to post a sign that reads you muct be attending a funereal of visting a grave of a relative or friend, no signs, yelling, or rude behavior or you will be asked to leave"

Then if they pull those stunts, arrest them for trespassing.

Nope, not really.. just like in a football stadiumor any other places that expects a certain behavior, it's not a right to be on someone's property, and if you choose to go on to it, then you must abide by their standards.

Sounds sensible somebody should do something about them I'm amazed somebody hasn't killed one of the bastards, I wonder if they pick and choose their funerals to disrupt, I'd like to see them try it on one of Louie Farrakhan's or The Hells Angels followers.....
