I don't know if any of you have experience with ticketreserve.com. It's an interesting site -- kind of a cross between the stock market and scalping.
The owners basically sell options to buy tickets to big events if a team makes it to that event. Options for superbowl XLII went on sale today. It's kind of fun for fans -- a neat thing if you'd only want to go to the superbowl if a particular team makes it. It's also sort of gambling. The option continues to trade until the team is eliminated.
Anyway, it's a pretty sophisticated market, so it's one place to go to see what people think is going to happen next year. The Patriots started out at $124 per option, and they've been bid all the way up to about $280 in just a day. The Chargers, Bears, Colts and Eagles are also up in the $300 range. It's kind of neat to look at.
And no, I don't work for the company.
