Sunday Nighter - Colts/Chargers

God I hope the Chargers beat the Colts. That will bury any talk of Peyton Manning league MVP!

No kidding. I've noticed that all year. The Patriots lost THREE defensive starters before the regular season even started (Bodden, Mcgowan, and Warren). Then Kazcur and Faulk? And Ghost? It's barely mentioned.

There is a big difference between losing guys prior to the season and losing guys during the season.

When the Pats lost guys before the season, it allowed a new set of guys to come in and practice and consistantly play, get used to their duties, the systme, etc.

Colts have been getting killed with injuries DURING the season, all at different times, meaning there has been no consistency. Hell, even the replacements for the injured players have been getting injured themselves.

It's really a big difference.

Colt 1st rounders:

Manning

Addai
Wayne
Clarke
Gonzalez
Brown

We all know Manning only missed a wide open Garçon because Collie and Clark aren't on the field, so you can't really put that one on number 18.

Manning makes his no name receivers look good. The Patriots' no name receivers make Brady look good.

Fred Taylor, Kevin Faulk, and Stephen Gostkowski were injured during the season.

This is a fair point. I don't begrudge the way the experts remind us about the Colts injuries, but as a few people pointed out some teams (GB and NYG) have similar injury problems during the season and it's barely mentioned. And this isn't a case about hating the Colts either, because I don't.

Despite teh two picks, this canbe a 3 point game soon.

So Manning hits the FS in the hands and he can't hang onto the pick. Than he throws a poorly placed ball, a little too much in front of Tamme who makes a fantastic catch with his fingertips and following that, Garçon makes 25 yards out of a 3 yard pass. And Manning is the one who makes his receivers?

At least we waited until the end of the second half to almost give the game away ;)

Well, that *was* an interesting play on the TD, the way they cleared out space to give White a place to come back to.

Mike Williams, Jacoby Ford, Blair White....we get Taylor Price.

(Ik he came from a simple offense and has high pitential just saying itd be nice to have a 3rd WR that could play football. Cough tate cough).

after 2 picks chargers lead by only 2. not a good thing for the charges

How do you know we don't have a 3rd WR that can play football? These kinds of assumptions are just dumb. History is full of examples of receivers who didn't play their first season and had good careers.

True. However, you can't keep Rivers out of the redzone forever and the Chargers are a great 2nd half team so the Colts have a lot to worry about. Their dink and dunk offense isn't going to get it done, especially with no help from their running game.

I sure hope so. Nothing like watching Polian dive out of his luxury suite.
