Another study has concluded that people who only watch Fox News are less informed than all other news consumers.

Researchers at Farleigh Dickinson University updated a study they had conducted in late 2011. That study only sampled respondents from New Jersey, where the university is located. This time, the researchers conducted a nationwide poll.

FOX is also the most watched of the cable news outlets...

    scary

The good news is that most of the next generation of americans DON'T watch Fox. Hopefully we can fix the mess you all made.

I don't know how anyone could watch either Sean Hannity or Ed Shultz and not think that they are just stupid tools. And both O'reilly and O'donnell are smart, but are both pompous arrogant a-holes.

The headline outperforms the reality though. When you look at the results everyone got well under half the questions. 1.61 out of 5 being the highest and 1.06 out of 5 being the lowest. There has to be some crossover data that skews it as well. For example they separate Sunday News shows from Fox, NBC, CNN and NPR viewers. I think everyone of those networks also have Sunday shows. Feeling all smart and superior isn't something I take from that. The bigger differences in the audiences are more ideological I think

Hannity and Matthews aren't "news people."

Anyhow, as the most talented hater here, can you name a single reporter you like? If not, how do you trust any news you hear at all? Or do you just base world events on what the people look like?

You see how this works, yes?

As for Fox viewers being dumbest, in other news, the Palestinians have announced they don't like the Israelis very much.

The most informative, and fair news anchor on television is broadcast on the Comedy network.

that tells you all you need to know about the level of journalism that is practiced in today's america.

best in print? you'll have to read Rolling Stone

There isn't any news outlet I trust.
When i hear a news person say "well we had a bombing in tim buck two today" I believe there was a bombing in tim buck two but I don't believe a thing the bastard tells me about the bombing.

Well then, if you don't trust a single news reporter, and you never leave your home state and actually see the world, how can you POSSIBLY have an opinion on what is even going on in the world?

I think you should shut all your doors and windows, lock yourself safely inside, keep the TV and radio off, and wait for rescue. As long as it takes.

IMO faux viewers ae very loyal and only get their news form faux, and most likely limbaugh. I get my news from about six or seven news sites and try to see what the consensus is on a particular story, especially if its political. Sites like the Guardian have sections devoted just to the US. I tend to take any US site with a grain of salt. I've noticed that the story is pretty much the same if i read the Guardian, the Globe and Mail, or the Global post and CNN. For all the right wing bashing CNN isn't all that bad compared to Faux. Except for CNN GPS with Fareed Zakaria i don't watch the sunday shows, there just a platform for the right and left to spout the party line, nothing to be learned.

Are you gonna follow the new HBO series "Newsroom" next month? Should be an excellent commentary on how pathetic U.S. corporate news presentation has become.

This graph is funny ... also shows liberals are good at filtering what they do not want to hear.
