Meet the new people, same as the old people. In the case of saved jobs, some of the old people never even existed. So how many hundreds of thousands of dollars per job did we end up wasting?

STIMULUS WATCH: Salary raise counted as saved job

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama's economic recovery program saved 935 jobs at the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council, an impressive success story for the stimulus plan. Trouble is, only 508 people work there.

The Georgia nonprofit's inflated job count is among persisting errors in the government's latest effort to measure the effect of the $787 billion stimulus plan despite White House promises last week that the new data would undergo an "extensive review" to root out errors discovered in an earlier report.

About two-thirds of the 14,506 jobs claimed to be saved under one federal office, the Administration for Children and Families at Health and Human Services, actually weren't saved at all, according to a review of the latest data by The Associated Press. Instead, that figure includes more than 9,300 existing employees in hundreds of local agencies who received pay raises and benefits and whose jobs weren't saved.

Government has no incentive to become efficent, jobs being 'saved' are people sucking on the government teat, at the expense of private sector jobs due to excessive gov spending.

Hence the jobless recovery dems are so proud of.

Change it then, you've had over 100 years to do it. This country for the most part has been always conservative, so why now, do you want all this to change?

Either your timing sucks, or your doing/saying things now because?

What the government did was wrong, they should of been making jobs not giving pay rasies......Still its better then some 3rd party scum bucket low life CEO calling the shots.

I guess we could just lower all the taxes on the rich, I mean lets not stick them with the bill, lets tax the poor more, why not? there dumb for being poor and deserve it right? let's let the rich pay them whatever they want? $2 an hour why not? no health care why not? In the end its all about the rich, well the rich can f-off and kiss my @ss. I don't want your ******* jobs......we can build them on our own, we don't need you!

The private sector? you mean the grasshopper? The Ant and the Grasshopper. Aesop. 1909-14. Fables. The Harvard Classics

The U.S. Department of Labor tracks things like the unemployment rate, jobs gained, jobs lost, new unemployment filings, average earnings, productivity and CPI.

Fact is there is no such statistic as "jobs saved." It is a completely made up term by the Obama administration. And since they are making up the category, it is safe to deduce they are also making up the numbers. All they do is prove you really can fool some of the people all of the time.

Could you point me in the direction of the post/article/etc where a conservative has advocated INCREASING taxes on poor people? It seems to me that you are throwing out something ridiculous that has never been advocated, so that you can say how ridiculous it is and bash on conservatives. Lowering taxes on the "rich" doesn't equal raising taxes on the poor. How about the government LOWERS taxes on the rich, and STOPS spending as much money? What a novel concept.

They also need to separate jobs created into short term and long term. A job building a runway that lasts 3 months shouldn't be considered equal to a long term self sustaining job. Yes, the short term job is good - that's still someone getting a legitimite paycheck for a while - but it's not the same as some technological development work on, say, alternative energy, that will last forever.
