Sobering numbers, but not exactly dispositive on the relative effectiveness of the stimulus.

If we only gave tax cuts to people, THEN we would be in a much better place than having tried to create jobs. Jobs are temporary, Tax cuts can be forever, if done properly. Tax Cuts have proven time, and time again that they put more money in the pockets of people who can afford to accumulate wealth. Instead of the stimulous, I wish our leadership would have the guts to keep cutting taxes, especially during multiple wars, like the Bush administration did (Praise Bush). They paved the way for financial stability, not this Obama recession we are currently seeing.

And can we please get tort reform, and give these private insurers the ability to not cover people across state lines. Lets remove restrictions on buisness, that will free up the capitol needed to drive corporations to create more of our main export, jobs....

This is indoctrination, into a comunistic facism.

    uggggggggghhhhhhhh...........

Give me a break people.....let this thing ride out. Do you decalare vicory at halftime also?

I'm sure you all were crying foul the instant the Iraq war went sour....right about the time of "Mission Accomplished"....

I largely agree with much of what they're saying. However it was obama who said that without the stumulus unemployment could go *** shock *** over 8%. He's a scare tactic president, that's how he influences people - by scaring them. Well, a year from now he'll be almost 2 years into his term and "a new normal" won't get his Democrat pals re-elected.

I like how you guys try and pin this on Obama, instead of blaming the real culprits for getting us into this position in the first place. If anything, Obama (and Bernanke) deserve credit for keeping the economy from falling off a cliff, which we came very close to doing after the collapse of Lehman.

Your criticism also relies on an implicit argument that the economy would be better off without the stimulus package. Where is your evidence of this?

Yeah, sort of how if we didn't invade Iraq, Saddam might *** shock *** hit us with WMDs.

    You're such a joke, it's unbelievable.

OK? And your evidence that it didn't?

Regarding being better off, who knows, an argument can be made based on the dollar's continuing decline based on the massive borrowing but you'll get a good argument on both sides of that.

Here I am exclusively laughing at the obamans claiming beforehand how successful the stimulus would be and at the lack of success it is finding.

It's the democratic party's fault that they have the "Spend" reputation. It makes them all look ridiculously stupid...so why do they continue to fulfill their own legacy?

Don't come back with something the republican does that makes them look stupid. The only relevant issue to this thread is the piece of shyte called the stimulus (besides...I'm a democrat). Never in the history of the United States has spending ever gotten us out of a recession or depression....you'd think they'd "Get it" :confused2:

This isn't about Bush and WMD anymore, sorry. It's about what the obamans said and about what has happened.

Meanwhile they're considering adding the vote on raising the debt ceiling to the defense bill :

Dems seek cover to boost debt limit - Manu Raju - POLITICO.com

to try to hide it. Stuff like this should get an individual vote, if they're going to increase the debt ceiling to $13,000,000,000,000 (that's TRILLION) then they should be man enough to put their vote on that by itself.

In other words, you hold different presidents to different standards. And who's the partisan hack?

No I don't. For the 1,001st time, I didn't vote for Bush in 2004 and for good reason. But even if I did hold them to different standards that doesn't change the fact the the "stimulus" didn't stimulate.
