http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4306275

Career Notes

Steve McNair was drafted third overall by the Houston Oilers in 1995 and last played for the Ravens in 2007. Here's a look at his 13 years in the NFL:

• Honored as three-time Pro Bowler
• Shared league's MVP award with Peyton Manning in 2003
• Led Tennessee to Super Bowl XXXIV in 1999, the only such appearance in franchise history, where the Titans lost to the Rams 23-16
• Joined Fran Tarkenton and Steve Young as the only players to pass for 30,000 yards and rush for 3,500 yards
Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair has been killed, a source has confirmed to ESPN.com.

McNair, 36, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head in downtown Nashville, police spokesperson Don Aaron said. A female victim was also found dead. Aaron said the woman has not been identified, pending notification of next of kin.

The incident happened near 2nd South & Lea Ave in Nashville.

McNair played 13 seasons in the NFL, 11 were with the Titans. He played his final two years with the Baltimore Ravens, retiring after the 2007 season.

HOLY SH!T

that sucks.

WTF?!?!

Just saw the headline online and am turning on NFL Network. They're in commercial, so I'm reluctantly switching to BSPN News.

Apparently right now they don't even know when he died, I assumed it was a bar fight or something, but the bodies were found after the fact. Christ. This sucks.

Very sad.:cry2:

So the gun was found underneath her body? Then how could she have done the shooting?

Unless she capped herself then fell forward onto the gun. Still sounds quite difficult to have it wind up under her body
