i've always said the biggest coup for the Bush League was Powell stepping down... what a sad day in American history. This story had the best quote I ever saw on the topic by someone in-the-know:

Powell resigns with three other Cabinet secretaries

really, what role does Rice and her State Department even serve right now? there is absolutely no word of mere caution, let alone dissent, within this regime...

It's just further evidence of the widespread cronyism plaguing this administration as a result of the new Rovian 24/7/365 election cycle. It's all about party consolidation, keeping squabbles internal, in order to keep a solidified and confident voter base come election time... dissenters resign

can anyone point to an administration that has had more turnover than this one?

three press secretaries, two defense secretaries, two Secretaries of State, and on and on and on...

anyhow, Powell could save the Republic and perhaps write his own ticket to the White House in '08 if he came forward and spoke out about the cooked pre-war intel... he's too proud, even despite the fact that the civilians in office have completely wronged him...
