He sounds like a moron. He doesn't even really answer the questions, just rambles about how "it all comes down to catching the ball.... things of that nature"
Why do other teams players not get it? You would think they would learn after what we did to Anthony Smith. If you want to have even a remote chance at beating us you have to play dead, you can't be there mocking and attacking us.
It's all sifted out in the player selection process.
Some f/o's gauge 40 speeds, cones, vertical jump, and that stuff.
Ours happens to probe attitude ... character ... intelligence ... and that stuff.
Sometimes, when you pursue the latter
you also acquire some of the former.
Typical Jaguar thug. It's amazing through 16 weeks these opposing teams just can't learn to keep their traps shut.
Congrats to those who took Spicer in the "which Jax player shoots their mouth off" thread.
Who the hell is spicer to be saying anything the only reason he wishes goodell would have kept us out of the playoffs is because he knows thyre gonna put an old school whoopen on them. He's in the same talent level or worse as anthony smith is and we all know how that turned out
Years in the NFL: 8
Tackles per year: 23.5
Sacks per year: 3.13
I think that makes him even worse than Anthony Smith, who could at least become good.
He is harmless...
I know you want a reason to be right here, but the reality is his comments came in the context of player punishment, and how he thinks it's good that Goodell is being so strict. He's a man of character, and believes players should be held more accountable for their actions. He was asked at the time what he thinks the punishment should be in Week 1, before Goodell laid down the law, and he likened the punishment to the NCAA and post-season suspension.
But if you want to think thug, go right ahead. That's about as reliable as ESPN printing "Fred Taylor trash talks Heinz field" as a vehicle to talk about field conditions. It's out of context, and surely of no importance. Which Jaguar will be the first to run his mouth? How about this: Which Jaguar will the media try to crucify next? I hope Maurice Drew is next. That's how ridiculous it has become. The expression on Spicer's face and tone of his voice in the interview shows just how much of an eyeroll topic this is.
After giving it a lot of thought, I'm not going to call Jaguar players thugs. From here on out, thugs will be replaced with hoodlums.
As for your contention that this is of no consequence, I would tend to agree. At the end of the day, the Patriots will beat Jacksonville because they're playoff tested, rugged and more talented.
Most likely true.:eat2:
I'm trying to find the actual article that he made those statements at week 2. Talk about out of context.
I love the media always trying to find something that would give another team bulletin board material.
How about the props the Jags have been saying all year about the season the Pats are having.
In week 2 what team didn't have a bunch of people saying bad things about the incident (other than the Pats).
How come I had never heard of this guy?
He says Jacksonville has plenty of things to get THEM motivated to come to Foxboro and get them a win. Not exactly a guarantee, but this guy "stands by" what he said attacking the Patriots, and that ain't smart AT ALL.
Average player at best. Would not make the Patriots team.
a notch above Anthony Smith
who cares what this genius thinks...he should keep his big trap shut.
I don't even know why ESPN would bother interviewing him.
At leat the thug Clint Ingran who flagrantly speared Brady has kept his big mouth shut for now.
AND YES he blatatntly speared Brady...spearing is leading with the crown of your helmet when tackling
Re: Paul Spicer????
I remember that last year he said he learn the technique from Harrison.
Because he plays for Jacksonville.
Because the Jaguars don't have alot of star power but work very well as a team.
Is he a trash talker..no. He said something when the story first broke, which ALOT of people said at that time, and then when they bring it up now he didn't cowar away from it and manned up to it but also said that now it doesn't matter.
Is there anything more unspeakable than to film another team's whatnot? For shame...
I know who he is because he claimed Bill Polian paid off the refs. Gave me a chuckle. See, we're kindred! We all think Polian is an *****!
His coach did his radio show this evening. He, unlike Spicer, was smart enough to avoid saying anything that could have been even remotely considered an attack on the Patriots. It's too bad he didn't get that memo to the players in time.
Separate names with a comma.
