From Reiss's football notes yesterday:
Rule has special significance - The Boston Globe
It's nothing but speculation. I'm not sure why Atlanta would replace one old Safety who can't cover anymore with another one unless Rodney would be cheaper. Either way, it looks like Rodney may be done here unless we come out of the draft without a Safety then maybe they'd give him a call.
Did not now he lived in Atlanta...but I agree speculation..
He does live in ATL in the off season. Many pro athletes do.
Is it still 4:1 in Atlanta?
Yeah, I agree with your assessment.
The Falcons just released a old safety (Milloy) similar to Harrison. I saw this crap on rotoworld and was hoping nobody would bring this up.
I think Rodney is done and he knows it. This offseason Rodney has done more media and I think he is heading in that direction once he is done playing.
Didn't he want to be a ref at one point too? That could be another possibility down the road.
He will clearly stay involved with the game somehow. He is very well spoken and charismatic, so I think he can stick on TV if he wants to.
I get the impression that if Rodney can still play they'll take him back here at some point. Otherwise, he can't pass a physical elsewhere either, so he's done.
Can't really see Atlanta in the mix. I think Rodney either comes back as a Pat (either player or coach) or retires.
"I think Rodney is done and he knows it. "
I agree. Lets get his replacement this draft.
We'll miss him.
and WHO shall mentor this draft pick? Rodney coming back when he's healthy, will be fine with me. Right now, it doesnt matter who you get in the draft, it's unlikely they will start. That leaves Sanders, and Merriweather. Im ok with them as the starters, but would feel better if Rodney was in the rotation. He's still a smarter safety than both of them put together. Speed isnt everything.....though it certainly helps
