    Re: specter......what a DB

Specter needs to knock off the visits to the Philly version of this website.

The unfortunate truth is that he's right. Every other fan base in the country just latched on to this "cheater cheater pumpkin eater" bullcrap, as most of us know by now. The pot's "boiling" and will boil until ol' Bill Belichick is gone from the league. Probably they'll even be able to dig up old footage when the battle rages over his enshrinement in Canton some years or decades from now.

But if he's no saint - and none of us are - Belichick is also not the antichrist the uninformed want him to be. Above all he and the Pats are smart.

"There must be more to it" and "the other shoe still has to drop" and the like will be rallying cries for teams like the Eagles for a long time. As for the Pats, they seem to be looking at 2008 as a season of unfinished business.

    I like that better :)

    Re: specter......what a DB

Actually they are not. They never do. Last season was over for them when that last game ended badly. They don't waste time crying over spilt milk. And spygate was over for them when Walsh showed up in NY empty handed. They don't pay attention to the attention seeking meanderings of political hacks in their dotage.

2008 is not an extension of 2007 for them. I wish the fan base could wrap their heads around that so we too could move on with a clean slate. (I know, I know - the rest of the NFL fan base ad media won't - but since when does what they think matter...) In fact many have observed that this team and it's head coach seem almost liberated and oddly refreshed in the aftermath of 2007. I think they are done with burdening themselves with essentially persuing vain goals and foolish retribution.

They are re-focused on persuing Lombardi's, period, one game at a time.

Boy does that man love to hear himself talk. I am also not shocked that the article is written by Greg Bishop. I think there is a real story there of the connection between Bishop, Specter, and Matt Walsh that should be uncovered.

Who really cares what Specter has to say. All he can do is keep on talking and lose more support for his actions because he comes off as a senile old coot.

    Re: specter......what a DB

shouldn't he be dead by now???

I did talk to my senator (came to visit my jobs facility for a tour) about this and he said that there definitely has been a hit on Spectors cred due to this because of his comcast ties....

Then again he is a NJ senator....so what does he know about cred right?

Did he go into any more detail...I find that interesting he would say that.

Mo... I think you are dead on regarding the mindset of the team.

I plan to exactly the same, there is nothing left here, time to move on. All that remains are haters, in the form of mediots and jealous fans from other teams that will try to rile us up.

Spector will try to save face, but it is too late..game over Arlen, you were outes as a pawn for Comcast and lost your credibility.

Whenever anyone starts trying to give me any crap, I just show them my Three time Champion wristwatch and tell them to eat their jealous hearts out and to STFU.

Yo, we should try him out. I never heard of him, but we do need DB's on this team. We should give him a vet min for some solid depth.

    Re: specter......what a DB

Why am I not surprised that this story came from the New York Times?

Reminds me of a scene from a movie.

Thanks to a friendly reminder from Comcast.

"I got caught off guard and was getting hammered in the court of public opinion."

"Not till Comcast tells me it's over."

How shocking! Specter drools and Bishop is there to lap it up. Can that anti-semitic kook Easteregg be far behind?

    Re: specter......what a DB

I like it a lot. It's just not the case. Certainly, not universally so.

    Quoth Randy Moss:

    (originally reposted at http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/story.php?id=173383&ac=PHspt)

I don't think he's talking about a jammed finger lawsuit.

There's the party line, then there's the fact that all of them are human beings. Like when they finally took the lid off talking about perfection. For 17 weeks, it was mainly party line - then Junior says we have the opportunity to be part of ever. GASP! Before the Super Bowl!

They try to avoid those little stories and focus on what happens when the whistle blows, but that's not always the case.

I don't think anyone's forgotten XLII... but I also agree that dwelling on it makes zero sense. Yeah, I would say the party line is "we ain't done nothin yet." I would also say they all know they are very good, and very focused on getting back... and that in their own hearts, there is unfinished business.

But hey, I'm only human, not telepathic. I am just going by how I would feel.

Just me an' Randy, I guess.

An "investigation" indicates that you don't know whether there is another "shoe" to drop. His assumption that there is shows that it's a witch hunt and not an "investigation." So he pretty much openly said what Pats fans already knew: Specter is seeking a predetermined result and not the truth.

I think we saw Spector's true intentions after he demonstrated zero interest in the basketball ref scandal. That speaks volumes about his motives and true colors. We need to forget about this corrupt hag.

Between that and of course Comcast, I don't know why anyone the media takes him seriously and why any of those supposed "investigative" reporters wouldn't dig a little deeper.

In the end we all know "spygate" was and continues to be a way for some to get back at the NFL and it was all about the money and nothing else. As we all know Bob Kraft is the head of the tv committee.

I think it would be best served if we just all started to COMPLETELY IGNORE whatever the man has to say about the non-issues of the past that have long since been laid to rest. And Id love it if Mods would politely move anything relating to Arlen Specter to another board pertaining to politics or something. This guy has nothing to do with football or the Pats. Can we stop posting his crap already?? Its beyond old.
