#24 - S - Michael Griffin
#28 - S - Brandon Meriweather

I love the idea. Meriweather has been brought in twice. I suspect one visit was an interview to check out his character concerns, the second was to gauge his ability to play corner.

I think both represent solid value, and would probably even allow us to trade down a few spots.

It would give us the ultimate mismatch, two fast, ballhawking, physical defensive backs with the versatility to play all over the secondary.

It could be open competition between Wilson, Gay, Scott, Griffin and Mariweather for playing time. The best two men win starting jobs.

Rodney has injury/retirement insurance.

We have young bodies to replace Samuel if need be.

The best part would be watching the reactions. Kiper would lose his mind.

Actually that would be awesome to have a defensive tandem like that at safety.

Great idea!

I mentioned that on the main board thread on speed on defense.

If we can sign Samuel long term, and even more if we can Gay long term to give us 3 solid CB, I would love to do it.

Wilson is a UFA in 10 months and has arely been seen since 2004. Harrison is nearing the end. Sanders seems like a good backup but as a starter, except for one tipped INT I can't remember a single play/big hit he's made. Which can be OK for a DB, of course, but from my not so great view he's a guy than doesn't hurt but doesn't help - the Antowain Smith of Safeties.

A DB in 2008 of Samuel/Hobbs/Griffin/Merriweather . . . hoo baby.
