After watching Houston's highlight video which featured his physicality and feistiness (just watch where he brings the 5 inch taller Meachem down to the turf), I decided to review his measurements at the combine. Wow, there's more reason to be excited folks.

Highlight:

(Thanks to Sebman for finding this first.)

4.32 in the 40 yard dash, Chris Houston, fastest time by any DB including the likes of Landry and Leon Hall.

20 yard shuttle 4.12. Third fastest in his group, and tied for 4th overall among DBs.

3 cone only 6.94. Finished in the bottom of the group but under the acceptable 7 second mark.

Vertical jump. 36 inches. This is only average for his group.

Broad jump. 10'2. Only average results for his group.

Bench. 27 reps! Strongest among all DB's tested. I guess I can see where he got the strength to throw down Meachem now. The guy has a strong jam off the initial snap, and he features a lot of physicality for a guy of his size. He may only be 5'10" but don't call him mighty mite or he's liable to knock you on your @ss!

i like him aswell but questions about playing the run and as someone here says he has terrible hands which i think has no effect on where he goes really..hands can be fixed and i think whoever said it is underrating his hands a bit

Josh Wilson is also very fast and physical and loves to hit

Well I can come back with the caveat that Josh Wilson's scouting report has his stiff hips as a weakness and also reportedly has poor hands. Not every prospect is going to be perfect. Let's not forget their positives either, right?

BTW where did they get Wilson's 4.39 time. Was that a pro day workout? Because I don't see him listed at the Combine.

I think after a little tutoring from Harrison, Houston will be putting his "hat" in there on a regular basis.

Houston's a junior too, IIRC. Plenty of learning to do. As strong as he is, and as aggressive as he appears in the vid, I can't see him not taking to supporting the run. And, as the vid attests, he had at least one nice special teams tackle in his college career.;)

This kid is a wild card imo. Lot of upside with all his combine #'s. He also has bust written on him too. Poor hands, hips and run tackling on many scouting reports. If BB likes him he will get him.

"It is what it is" as BB would say. I give up on trying to read the minds of the Pat's front office. All I know is there is a good chance we are going to get 2 really good players that they like in round 1. They may not be who I thought they were going to be, but they will probably be good non the less. End of April here yet?

Wilsons hips are fine..he runs with every receiver. Wilson ran a 4.39 at combine but trust me..he is faster than that on the field. 4.39 is a very good time but for Wilson..he was supposivly 1 of the fastest players in draft and watching him in ACC. he loves to hit, get physical..as a competitor reminds me of Hobbs..never scared and willing to take on anyone regardless the size
