    Leonard Davis from the Cowboys
    Rich Seusbert from the Giants..
    Marc Columbo from the Cowboys.

Todd Heap, Derek Mason, Wllis McGahee, Kelly Gregg

Davis would make a nice replacement for Neal. So would Harvey Dahl or Justin Blalock...

I think Mason and Heap re-sign with the Ravens next week, but I really like Gregg.

The Cowboys could be an interesting trade partner if we can't re-sign Mankins long term and decide to cut ties.

Barber may have peaked and gone into decline.

    3.7
    4.4
    3.3

in his last three years. Teams will have to evaluate him and decide if he's worth the gamble.

A 1000 yard rusher, 13 TDs last year, and he has NEVER fumbled. I can't figure out why so many people continue to think Green-Ellis is some nobody that you can replace as easily as you change your socks.

Yeah, people are trying to get rid of him so fast. He's young, fresh, does a damn good job behind our revamped offense, and he's very cheap. Just because someone has more name recognition doesn't make them better because Law Firm wasn't drafted.

This offseason has quickly gone from being the most dull ever to being the most exciting.

Trade him for Steven Jackson. Rumors are that the Rams are looking to bring in Reggie Bush (if cut), else Snelling. They may want to go youth by making a swap. We'd get two years out of Jax, Law Firm is a quality runner but Jax can pound hard.

Re: Some interesting vets being cut

Because some of those people understand blocking schemes? Green-Ellis is a decent runner. He reads blocks well, is patient, and he doesn't fumble. He's a solid, unspectacular back who is a nice player to give your lead backs a breath with. He's not an NFL starting back. He played very well last season for his potential, but he had tremendous blocking ahead of him and some truly beautiful play design to mitigate his weaknesses. He doesn't fumble, which is nice, but Adrian Peterson coughs up the ball from time to time and I'm pretty certain whom I'd rather have.

On Barber, I need to look deeper at his situational stats. With such great homerun backs on the roster around him it wouldn't surprise me if he was relegated to short yardage duty. He doesn't have many miles on him.

Let's trade James Sanders for Ed Reed while we're at it. I hear the Ravens want to get younger on the defensive backfield.

Re: Some interesting vets being cut

Steven Jackson has also been the Ram's only offense since he came to the team until last year. That's one hell of a beating. I'd rather ride out BJGE for atleast one more season and see if he can put together back to back 1,000 yard seasons. He only has one full season of wear and tear on his body compared to these guys who have had to pound it every down for their entire career due to lack of any other offense (SJax).

Re: Some interesting vets being cut

Because some people don't understand that 1,000+ yards and 13 TDs in just 11 starts aren't throwaway stats?

If he is such a mediocre runner, my question is: how come nobody else has gained that much yards and that many TDs since Corey Dillon, EIGHT years ago?

We weren't always a RBBC, btw.

Re: Some interesting vets being cut

We kind of were since 2004. Hadn't Maroney been a colossal bust I think you mght have seen a similar performance by another rusher. BJGE is a nice player, but not much more than that.

Re: Some interesting vets being cut

What kind of point differentials did those stats come from? Against what types of defenses? How much depth was available at the position? What kind of blocking schemes was he running behind? How many times was he checked into because of a defense?

If you were playing the Patriots what would you gameplan against? Is that kind of back the type that can win you a game? Again, he's a nice player who had a great season. He played way better than he should have played but his statistics are not an accurate representation of what kind of player he is. He had better stats than Ray Rice, too. You'd rather him than Rice?

Re: Some interesting vets being cut

I never said I wouldn't trade him for Adrian Peterson. Let's be realistic here. I was commenting on the fact that just about every time any RB gets released there is a chorus on here to cut Green-Ellis in favor of the other team's castoffs. Is he the best RB out there? No. Does he perform his roll on the team well? Yes.
