Dennis Prager thinks so. Socialism and Secularism Suck Vitality out of Society

Opening sentence: "Outside of politics, sports, and popular entertainment, how many living Germans, or French, or Austrians, or even Brits can you name?" Umm.

I guess they're too busy working their 35-hour work weeks to accomplish much.

Socialism and Secularism Suck Vitality out of Society by Dennis Prager on Creators.com - A Syndicate Of Talent

That's the very spirit which has always been America's trademark, what separated us from everyone else, and it's slowly being sapped away :(

He makes a good point too; it's tough to be innovative and creative when your world is so regulated.

those on the left have always sneered and hated the idea of American exceptionialism. This administration is sponsoring a race to the bottom.

Our innovation charachteristics began to go under supression when the lawyers decided that doing anything dangerous or risky better work or whoever's responsible will lose everything they've ever worked for. It's why our space program has stalled in near-Earth orbit.

They're in the process of killing off what adventure Americans have left by drugging all children (mostly boys) who aren't like all the rest. They call it ADHD.

It has nothing to do with religion or the type of government we have. With the help of God, we'll be majority athiest and fully secular soon. The US has been socialist since the New Deal. Who the fugg listens to Dennis Prager?

How many living Americans can you name who are world famous? People usually get that kind of fame after they die or become irrelevant.

His whole premise is that Obama is trying to turn the US into a secular welfare state is no more than another hysterical right wing talking point.. believe it if you may, but does not seem to be that way at all.

The arrogance of that piece is impressive. There's a huge swath of Americans that pretty much ignores what the rest of the world is doing. So now that ignoring is established they move to pretending that nothing is happening at all?

    Cute.

Of course I read it, one of my pet peeves is when people comment on something they never actually bothered to read. Talk about sheeple; just pick whatever quote supports you and thats what people read and opine about. If it was a you tube things would be different but only if he vid lasted less than 3 minutes;)

Socialism removes risk thereby de-nadding and de-gutsing most of America. Once the guts of America's been taken away then what's left? It sure as * isn't innovation or the ability to create wealth from hard work, brains, ability and a bit of luck.

People are lazy and have lost the option of pride in accomplishment, legacy creation or at least having hopes for it, and I'm not just talking about those who are well-off or close to it. I'm also talking about the poor; their hopes and dreams have been capped as well. Granted they'll likely be better off than they were but still, everybody should have an equal opportunity to start off but somewhere along the line everyone makes a decision as to which direction their lives will take. Socialism takes away that choice. Without life-changing choices and risks, what challenge is there?

As "fair" as socialism appears to be and probably in fact is, there's a price to be paid for that fairness. JMHO

I read it, too. It was idiotic and simplistic crap...sorry. LND's post was better.

Sorry, never heard of 'em. And I listen to the BBC and subscribe to The Economist.

I think I can now say QED.
